The Division II Spring Tour playoffs are more than halfway done. With all eyes focused on DreamLeague Season 19, actions and brilliant plays from the DPC Division II Spring Tour have been lacking some limelight they deserved. With a team triumphing over the titans to get promoted to Division I for the Summer Tour, here’s the action that has been happening.

Surprising results

The Western Europe Division II received the most attention before the start of the Spring Tour playoffs. With The International 2022 runner-ups, Team Secret getting relegated to Division II after their disappointing Winter Tour run and Old G, the team consisting of former back-to-back The International champions, Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen, the region was regarded as the most cutthroat region in the entire DPC. Furthermore, the region also included several notorious teams like Alliance and Into The Breach.

Old G and Team Secret were the favourites to get promoted in the region before the start of the playoffs. As the official playoffs started, surprising results shocked the Dota 2 community. Even though Team Secret displayed a strong debut, Old G, on the other hand, struggled to perform. However, where both favourites struggled, a tier 2 team that consisted of upcoming new players known as D2 HUSTLERS beat the favourites and are on the path to securing their Division I ticket.

Dawn of a New Era?

Team Secret made a roster shuffle to get back to Division I before the start of Division II playoffs. Their debut match against Alliance went off perfectly. They also secured another 2-0 victory in the series that followed Alliance, which was against Into The Breach. However, after losing to D2 Hustlers with a 2-1 defeat, Team Secret bounced back in their series against PuckChamp. They’re currently in second place in Division II.

Old G lost the two series that followed their debut series. Even though they managed to bounce back in recent series against IVY, the team’s chances of getting promoted are currently uncertain. With a score of two wins and two losses, Old G are currently in 5th place. Old G’s next series is against Ancient Trible. Ancient Tribe is currently in third place with the same score as Team Secret.

D2 Hustlers are currently leading the groups in Division II Western Europe DPC. With three wins and 0 losses, the team will face Alliance in their next series.
