Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are set to welcome two of television's most recognizable animated characters as playable operators. Stan Smith and Roger from Seth MacFarlane's American Dad are joining the CODtoons event as part of Season 4 Reloaded, marking another unexpected crossover in the franchise's growing collection of pop culture collaborations.

The collaboration was first discovered by dataminers following the Season 4 Reloaded update on July 2, 2025, with leaked files revealing comprehensive details about the upcoming American Dad skins and associated content. This crossover continues Call of Duty's trend of incorporating animated content into its military shooter framework, following the successful Beavis and Butt-Head collaboration that launched alongside the same update.

Character Bundles and Pricing Details

The American Dad crossover will feature two distinct operator bundles, each bringing unique content to Black Ops 6 and Warzone. The Stan Smith bundle, expected to release on July 17, 2025, will include the CIA agent's classic look with his signature blue suit, two weapon blueprints, and various cosmetic items including calling cards and sprays. This bundle is priced at 2,400 COD Points, approximately $19.99.

Roger's bundle, scheduled for release on July 20, 2025, offers significantly more content with three distinct operator skins, including one featuring his alter-ego Ricky Spanish. The alien character will also come with two weapon blueprints and various cosmetic accessories, priced at 2,800 COD Points (around $30). The higher price point reflects the additional content, particularly the three different Roger skins that capture various personas from the show.

CODtoons Event Integration

The American Dad collaboration will be integrated into Call of Duty's CODtoons event, which celebrates animated content through cel-shaded map variants and themed rewards. Players can expect free American Dad-themed items through the event, including a loading screen depicting the Smith household and a Stan emblem available to all players.

The CODtoons event spans across all game modes - Multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies - allowing players to earn rewards regardless of their preferred playstyle. This event structure ensures that American Dad content reaches the broadest possible audience within the Call of Duty community.

Seth MacFarlane's Expanding Gaming Presence

American Dad, created by Seth MacFarlane alongside Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, has been a staple of adult animated television since its 2005 debut. The show centers around the Smith family, with Stan as a patriotic CIA agent and Roger as a hedonistic alien living in their household. This collaboration represents MacFarlane's content expanding into the gaming space, following previous crossovers by other animated properties.

The timing of this crossover is particularly interesting, as American Dad has recently returned to Fox after several years on TBS, indicating renewed interest in the franchise. While the show maintains a dedicated fanbase with strong audience scores, this gaming collaboration could introduce the characters to a new generation of fans through Call of Duty's massive player base.

Call of Duty's Crossover Strategy

The American Dad collaboration continues Call of Duty's aggressive crossover strategy, which has previously included partnerships with major entertainment properties like Squid Game, The Boys, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These collaborations serve multiple purposes: they keep the game fresh for existing players, attract new audiences from different fandoms, and create viral marketing moments that extend beyond the gaming community.

Gaming industry analysts note that crossover marketing has become increasingly effective, with collaborations like these generating significant engagement and revenue through cosmetic sales. The American Dad crossover specifically targets adult audiences who grew up with the show, potentially bringing lapsed players back to the franchise.

Release Timeline and Expectations

Based on datamined information, the American Dad content is expected to launch in mid-July 2025, with Stan Smith's bundle arriving on July 17 and Roger's bundle following on July 20. The staggered release strategy allows Activision to maximize engagement and purchasing opportunities while maintaining excitement throughout the event period.

The collaboration represents Call of Duty's continued commitment to pop culture integration, proving that no franchise is off-limits when it comes to crossover potential. As the gaming industry continues to embrace these unexpected partnerships, American Dad's entry into the Call of Duty universe demonstrates how animated content can successfully transition into military shooter environments while maintaining its unique identity and appeal.
