After serving as a stand-in during recent games, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov has now become the full-time fifth player for Cloud9. This announcement marks the completion of the team's roster, following Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov's recent departure from the active lineup.

A Storied Career

Boombl4 brings an impressive resume to Cloud9, having previously secured several high profile championships such as the PGL Major Antwerp, IEM Cologne and the Intel Grand Slam title with Natus Vincere during 2020–2021. Notably, he served as the in-game leader for Natus Vincere during that period. In his new role with Cloud9, Boombl4 has been sharing AWP-ing duties with Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy in the few maps he has played thus far.

The 24-year-old has already participated in several matches as a stand-in for Cloud9 during the Thunderpick World Championship. He has delivered a strong performance by defeating Fnatic and Virtus.pro while top fragging for his team against the latter.

Cloud9's Ambitious Roster Revamp

Cloud9 initiated a significant roster revamp during the recent summer player break by bringing in Denis "electroNic" Sharipov and Perfecto from Natus Vincere, forming what many in the community referred to as a superteam. However, the results did not live up to the hype, leading to a change in leadership from electroNic to Abay "HObbit" Khassenov.

This change appeared to be a step in the right direction, as Cloud9 successfully navigated the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown immediately after the IGL swap. Unfortunately, this progress was dampened by sh1ro's abrupt departure following the team's early exit from IEM Sydney.

The Current Cloud9 Roster

Cloud9's current lineup now consists of the following players:

  • Abay "HObbit" Khassenov
  • Denis "electroNic" Sharipov
  • Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy
  • Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov
  • Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov
  • Timur "buster" Tulepov and Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov are on the bench.
  • Konstantin "groove" Pikiner (Head coach)

Cloud9's latest addition of Boombl4 brings both experience and firepower to the roster. As they aim to regain their competitive edge, the team will need to find the right synergy among their players and continue to work on their strategies. Will this new lineup be the key to Cloud9's success in the competitive CS2 scene?

The chemistry among these talented players will be a key factor in their success, and they'll need to find the right balance between individual skill and coordinated team play. Boombl4's leadership and experience will play a crucial role in guiding Cloud9 towards their goals, and his impressive track record suggests that the team is in capable hands.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
