The North American Esports organization Cloud9 has announced the Cloud9 x One Piece collaboration for an upcoming merch collection. The merch collection drops 9th December and features multiple One Piece themed apparels.

For those unfamiliar, One Piece is a pirate-themed shounen manga which has been serialized since 1997 by Eiichira Oda. It has also been adapted into an anime and a Netflix live action show.

The One Piece manga currently is the best selling manga of all time. The recent Netflix adaptation of the show reached #1 on the Netflix charts in 84 countries breaking the record previously held by ‘Wednesday’ and ‘Stranger Things’. The anime adaptation of the manga is also amongst the top animes of all time.

Over the years of its serialization, One Piece has collaborated with multiple brands including Gucci, Seiko-5, Nintendo and more. They recently collaborated with NFL’s LA Rams. The Cloud9 collaboration will be the first esports team collaboration for One Piece.

These collaborations between pop culture and specifically anime and esports organizations aren’t uncommon. Amongst the most popular are Team Liquid - Marvel, Team Liquid - Naruto and TSM - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

The Cloud9 x One Piece collab will feature a plethora of apparels and the complete collection goes live 9th December. C9 will simultaneously open a pop-up shop at 66 Windward Ave, Venice, CA 90291 on 9th December at 11 am PT.
