Following a disappointing end to the year for Team BDS, Adam "Adam" Maanane has announced he will be going into the off season as a free agent.

With his unconventional picks and playstyle, the French top laner has been a pillar of Team BDS over the course of the last 2 years.

Now, however, it appears the time has come for both parties to move on.

Adam reflects on his year with BDS

Adam took to X (Twitter) to talk about a year in which he felt the team had the ability to go further than they did, but in which they simply failed to perform when they needed it most.

Despite all the disappointments, however, Adam considers the year to have been largely positive all the same.

"Now it's time to accept defeat and think about next year.

I will come back in more detail in stream on my overall year.

And for the first time in my career, I find myself a free agent in the off-season, so I don't know what's going to happen.

See you next year and thank you all for your support ❤️"

A mental reset for Team BDS

Team BDS came into the LEC Season Finals with hopes of qualifying for the 2024 World Championship, where they would have had the chance to play in front of their home crowd in France.

The dream, however, was ended at the hands of G2 in heart-breaking fashion. Despite BDS being up 2-0, the team ultimately failed to find a way to close out the series, getting reverse swept by G2 to be eliminated from the tournament.

The team's loss to G2 marked an astounding third time that the team had been on the receiving end of a reverse sweep in 2024 after losing in similar fashion to both MDK and Fnatic earlier this year.

Looking to reset for next year, it was clear the team needed some changes.

Having been one of the stronger sides in the LEC in recent years, Team BDS is sure to tackle the market with vigor in search for a quality replacement for Adam.

As for the French top laner himself, this might just turn out to be an exciting off season. While his playstyle may take some time to get used to, there remains a good number of teams in the LEC that could benefit from a player of Adam's caliber.
