Arteezy lost 75% of his Viewers while Streaming on Kick

Shopify Rebellion went through a massive roster change in the roster shuffle season. They parted ways with more than half of their roster, leaving the team with only two players -  Artour "Arteezy" Babaev and Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek.

The two remaining players on the team have a loyal fanbase who enjoy watching them stream on Twitch. However,  the Canadian superstar is moving to greener pastures, as he has announced that he will be streaming on a new platform called Kick.

The Announcement

Recently, Arteezy announced on X ( formerly known as Twitter) that he will be returning to streaming. For the longest time, the community regarded Artour as the king of streaming for the Dota 2 scene.

However, his anticipated return was met with confusion when it came with a link for the Kick channel.

The community loves Arteezy, without a doubt. However, despite their love for the player, they’re not willing to switch platforms, staying loyal to Twitch.

While the Shopify Rebellion safelaner has 10,000 average viewers on Twitch, he dropped more than 7,000 as he switched over to Kick. According to statistics, his numbers merely exceed 3,000 viewers on the platform.

Moreover, his peak viewership at Twitch more than quadruple the amount of viewership he had on Kick. On Twitch, his recorded peak was nearly 18K viewers, but on the Kick platform, it was just 4K viewers.

The player even made a brief return to Twitch, where he had a viewership of around 9K viewers. Despite his massive dent in the viewership, the community speculates there are other reasons why the Arteezy would be willing to try Kick, despite losing massive viewers.

The Difference

In contrast to Twitch, Kick offers more incentives to streamers on their platform. Despite the donations being treated the same as Twitch, Kick’s revenue split for subs is 95/5. The majority goes to the streamers. Twitch has a 70/30 split instead, although people can negotiate for better rates.

As a result of this bold move, Kick's subs pay more than YouTube and Twitch. They recently introduced hourly rates for their streamers regardless of the viewers. With the platform offering such benefits, it is becoming a hotspot for streamers.

Overall, this move by Arteezy taught us most viewers will be loyal to their platform regardless of their favourite streamer. Thus, it will make Artour’s transition an uphill battle. Nevertheless, there is still room to grow, and the community will be watching his growth on the new platform.

The players returning to their streaming duties indicates Shopify’s intention to revamp their roster for the upcoming season. Additionally, it’s uncertain whether the team will participate in the upcoming ESL Kuala Lumpur qualifiers, as they are yet to announce the matter.
