As the LCK awards now wind to a close, we gear up for the next season of the LCK in 2024. With the teams mostly set, the LCK has revealed a surprise ahead of the new season; a special tournament with a unique twist.

When is the 2024 LCK Spring Split Happening?

The 2024 LCK Spring Split will be taking place from the 17th of January. As in previous years, the tournament will be held at the LCK Arena - LoL Park. This arena was most famously recently used for the Swiss Stage of the Worlds 2023 tournament.

What teams will be participating in the 2024 LCK Spring Split?

The following 10 teams will be participating:

All roster changes for the 2024 season of the LCK can be tracked on Strafe Esports’ Rostermania tracker.

A Special LCK Tournament

On December 13th, following the conclusion of the LCK Awards, the LCK announced a special tournament to ‘celebrate the start of the 2024 season.’ This tournament is set to take place on January 9th.

The only other information to have been released thus far, is that this tournament will be composed of teams of ‘players from each role in the game.’ This has been surmised to indicate rosters built entirely of players from a single role will face other teams built of players from another role (i.e all Jungler team vs all Support team).

NOTE: This is based on one reliable source and has yet to be officially confirmed. Stay tuned for further information.

LCK Brings Back Popular Season Kickoff Practice

To ring in the 2023 season, the LCK held a Season Kickoff event. It was held on January 10th this year, with a precursor event held on December 16th. This upcoming tournament will likely run in a similar vein, with a different format.

Last Kickoff event, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu faced off in an extended showmatch. In the first part, the two players held a 1v1 battle. The winner would decide the pick priority of team drafting, which took place on the same day. According to the rules, they were not able to pick any more players from their own team. In January, the two teams faced off in a showmatch.

This upcoming kickoff, a different twist has been introduced. What exciting combination of players will we get to see? Stay tuned for the full article on this upcoming event.
