Riot-Organized Global Tournaments

Riot Games has established a couple of international events, the major events the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds). These tournaments are organized and established to bring the best teams from all major regions i.e., LCS, LEC, etc into one space wherein a champion would crown themselves the best team in the world and each event promotes its champions teams competing internationally, bringing a global atmosphere to each event.

MSI, takes place at the mid-season of the League of Legends Season, and highlights the strength of each meta the different regions play in their leagues and will pit several of the top teams against each other. How Teams Qualify for Major Events

Teams qualify into international competitions like MSI and Worlds based on their performance in their respective regional league(s). Most times, the best teams from the Spring and Summer Split finals will earn an automatic qualifier; depending on the circumstance, some will either compete in the regional qualification rounds or seek wildcard entry. Typically the top 3 teams from each region qualify to the main event, with some outliers in place for the 4th seeds from select regions.
