Who to watch in the Rocket League Fall Regional 3 Invitationals
After Worlds wrapped up in August, it’s already time for the new season of pro Rocket League to begin. There are 7 regions and over 100 teams competing in just a couple of days so fans will be pretty hard pressed to ensure they see every game they want to. That’s why prioritizing the games that’ll have the most impact is the best way to enjoy so much of the Rocket League to come.
What is the best region to watch Rocket League in?
One of the most unique parts of the Rocket League Championship Series is just how international it is. Every esport has European and American leagues, but Rocket League goes a step further to include the Middle-East and North Africa as well as Sub-Saharan Africa. While these regions have yet to find their domination in the scene, that doesn’t mean they should be written off by any stretch of the imagination.
Having said that, some of the top teams in the world, including Team BDS and Moist Esports play in the European region. After storming through to both Major and overall Worlds wins, any fan looking to keep up with Rocket League will be wanting to keep their eye on Europe. Similarly, some of the most famous orgs in the world including Team Liquid play in Europe.
It’s not just Europe making waves in Rocket League. North America also dominated the top 4 places at Worlds in 2022 with G2 Esports and FaZe Clan earning their places on the podium. For the highest quality plays, fans may want to take a look at their games.
Which teams to look out for - not just previous winners
As any fan of esports knows, the world of international tournaments is extremely unpredictable. It could end up a mistake to only follow the teams that have won previous tournaments. Fans who keep up with teams that have felt the highs and lows of competitive play should earn a pay off eventually.
As one of the only teams from outside Europe or North America that was seeded directly into the group stage at Worlds this year, Team Falcons are ones to watch. Overall, they finished their run in 9th-12th place, which is very respectable for a team that only really burst onto the scene in 2021.
Similarly, Brazilian team Furia may be a familiar name to many esports fans. They were also seeded directly into the Worlds group stage after dominating the South American leagues all year. Seemingly not satisfied with their 3rd-4th place final finish, it seems safe to say that Furia will be back for more in the coming leagues!
