The Dust Starts to Settle: VCT Pacific League Week 3 Preview
After two weeks of Intense action, the VCT Pacific looks extremely competitive, with teams trying to dethrone DRX. DRX, T1, Team Secret, and GenG currently stand atop the VCT Pacific Leaderboard. While Talon, RRQ, Global Esports, and Detonation FocusME have yet to register their first win.
VCT Pacific League Week 3 Preview:
April 8th - Rex Regum Qeon vs. Detonation FocusMe:
Neither team has gotten on the board yet. But both teams have started looking better as the competition advances. RRQ previously faced GenG and ZETA and could not close the games despite closer matches. DFM themselves were on the opposite side of some very close wins.
RRQ and DFM would like to secure their first-ever wins in the matchup. The game will depend on which team performs the best. Both teams have great individual players and great set plays, and the game's outcome will depend on the team's performance on the day.
April 8th - T1 vs. Paper Rex:
T1 has been on a roll since the start of VCT Pacific. After a slow start, T1 brought in iNTRO, made Xeta the IGL of the squad, and they look like a new team. T1 defeated GES and Talon in the previous fixtures, and going into week 3, will be pumped with confidence.
On the other hand, Paper Rex could not close the match against Team Secret, but that does not change the fact that they are still one of the strongest teams in the Pacific. Paper Rex will be a true test for T1 as a team.
A win over Paper Rex will solidify T1's position in the league. Paper Rex winning the game is a likely outcome, though. The team is strong and will only come back stronger after the loss. The match will surely be an exciting one to watch.
April 9th - Zeta Division vs. Global Esports:
ZETA secured their first point in the game against RRQ in Week 2. Global Esports, on the other hand, still are searching for the first win. On the bright side, they are looking better and better. The two Indian players who could not visit Korea have united with the team. Also, Global Esports have been looking better than their first game. In their previous altercation against DRX, they took the two maps they played till the last round and, over time, a silver lining to the 0-2 dark cloud.
ZETA themselves struggled against DRX, but a win in week 2 definitely helped their confidence, which helped them in the Week 3 matchup. Global Esports look a little better, but it depends on which team makes the lesser mistakes.
April 9th - Talon vs. DRX:
After a rough start to the season, Week 3 does not bring good news for Talon. Talon will now face DRX, the best team in VCT Pacific. DRX, with Foxy9 as the sixth man, has become a huge threat. They are two different teams in one. With who plays on the day, DRX can be two different teams with different playstyles.
Talon themselves have a rotating roster but are currently struggling. DRX will be favored in the fixture, and Talon needs to bring their S-tier performance even to stand a chance to win over DRX.
April 10th - Team Secret vs. GenG:
Both Team Secret and GenG are undefeated in the series. Team Secret defeated Talon and Paper Rex, the team they had previously struggled against. The win over their two old rivals will help them with confidence. GenG's newer squad also looks extremely dangerous, with TS, eKo, and K1ng as the backbone and GodDead, meteor, and Sylvan as the frontline.
Moreover, GenG knows the problem with the squad and will improve on it. Team Secret themselves understood what was going wrong. Going into the match, the winner will be the team who has fixed their mistakes from the first match.
The VCT Pacific action resumes today. The three-day action will see the scoreboard shift significantly, with only three teams staying unscathed. Follow VCT Pacific's Twitter for all the updates regarding VCT Pacific.
