The Final Two: VCT Masters Tokyo Day 4 Recap
The final day of the Group Stages of VCT Masters Tokyo brought us two very exciting matchups. The final two teams going into the Playoffs have been decided. While the other two are sent packing.
Game 1: DRX vs FUT Esports
It was the Pacific giants DRX who managed to take the second qualifying spot from Group B. as they beat FUT Esports 2-1 in their matchup.

Bind was a very defensive sided map, as FUT managed to take a commanding lead in the first half. Only allowing DRX to take 3 rounds, FUT ended the first half 9-3. DRX were looking good in the second half, as they managed to pressure FUT, and build up a 5 round win streak, after the latter had gotten to Map Point first. But FUT closed out the map in round 27, and won the map 13-9.
DRX answered back on Fracture. Managing to trade rounds with FUT, the Korean outfit managed to end the first half in a tie at 6-6. Their second half was much better, as they showed off an offensive masterclass. Only allowing FUT to claw back 2 rounds, DRX took the map 13-8.
Haven was the deciding map of the decider match. DRX had a phenomenal start, as they made little to no mistakes on the defense. Only giving up one round, the Pacific giants ended the first half at a staggering 11-1. FUT could do little after that. They managed to salvage a few rounds, before DRX ended the map at 13-4.
Game 2: T1 vs EDward Gaming
EDward Gaming continues to surprise fans and opposition alike, as they manage to take down T1 and grab the second qualifying spot from Group A. They won the matchup 2-0.

Starting off with Fracture, EDG had a very strong start. Taking 4 rounds right off the bat, the Chinese outfit only conceded 4 rounds. They ended the first half 8-4. Continuing this momentum into the second half, EDG had a flawless attacking side, and took the map 13-4.
It was a similar story on Haven. Starting off on the attack, EDG had a near perfect half. T1 only managed to claw back 2 rounds, as the half ended 10-2 in favor of EDG. However, T1 were not going to go down without a fight. They took 4 rounds right off the bat in the second half. But EDG quickly shut it down, and secured the 3 rounds required to win the map. They won the map 13-6.
DRX and EDward Gaming are the final two teams to have advanced onto the Playoffs of VCT Masters Tokyo 2023.
