They carried on this strong performance, while trading rounds with NRG in the second half. Liquid managed to get on to Map Point. However, NRG refused to give up, and won 5 rounds in a row to equalize and push the map into Overtime. NRG carried this momentum forward, and secured both rounds in Overtime to win the map 14-12.

Team Liquid answered back on Ascent. They again had a very strong start in the first half. The first half ended 7-5 in favor of Liquid. This time however, there was no comeback from NRG. Liquid had a stellar defensive half, and only allowed NRG to take 3 rounds in the half. It was the EMEA Champions who won the map 13-8.

Finally on Split, it was NRG who had a dominant game. Starting off on the attack, NRG had a stellar first half. Pulling off a 5 round win streak, the first half ended 8-4 in favor of NRG. The North American side had a stellar defense as well. Only allowing Liquid to win a single round, it was NRG who won the map 13-5 in dominant fashion.

Lotus remains

EGD had a very strong start on Fracture. The Chinese outfit showed off a strong defense, and only allowed PRX to take 4 rounds in the first half. EDG ended the first half at 8-4. They tried to carry this momentum forward in the second half, as they took 3 rounds right off the bat. But then PRX pulled off an incredible 8 round win streak to take the lead and get to Map Point at 12-11. EDG managed to salvage round 24 to push the map into Overtime. But PRX managed to take both rounds in Overtime to win the map 14-12.

Split started off as a very even affair between both teams. Although EDG tried to get the ball rolling, PRX managed to equalize the first half at 6-6. However, EDG had a much stronger defense in the second half. They only allowed PRX to take 3 rounds in the half to win the map 13-9 and tie the series.

Lotus was the deciding map. PRX had a very strong start on their defense in the first half. Only allowing EDG to take 4 rounds in the half, PRX ended the first half 8-4. EDG tried to mount a comeback, by winning 4 out of the 5 opening rounds in the second half. But PRX pulled off a 4 round win streak to take the map 13-8.

EDward Gaming’s run comes to an end at VCT Masters Tokyo. While Paper Rex advanced to the Lower Bracket Semi Finals, where they will face off against NRG.
