VCL Italy Rinascimento - Split 1: Regular Season Kicks off today

The Regular Season of VCL Italy Rinascimento Split 1 will kick off today. After two LCQs, an application process and a direct invitation to the Agents Series winner, eight teams will be part of the VCL Italy Rinascimento regular season. The season kicks off today at 07:00 PM CET with Bo1s.

VCL Italy Rinascimento Format and Schedule:

Similar to the Challengers format worldwide, There are two splits of VCL Italy Rinascimento. The first split features three stages, LCQs, Regular Season and Playoffs. For the selection of the teams, The winners of the Agents Series 2022 received a direct invitation to the Regular season. For five additional slots, teams had to submit applications. PG esports, the TO for VCL Italy, picked five teams to be invited based on the applications. For the rest of the spots, the tournament  featured open qualifiers in two LCQs.

The first LCQ featured sixteen teams, taking on each in the Bo1 double-elimination bracket. Only a single team qualified from the first LCQ. The second LCQ featured 16 teams taking on each other in the Bo1 double-elimination bracket, and only a single team qualified. Bringing a total of eight teams for the Regular season.

The regular season will feature five weeks of group play. All the games featured in the group play will be Bo1s. Every team in the group will play every other team twice. The regular season will feature a total of fifty-six matches. Four teams will qualify for the playoffs at the end of the regular season. The last two teams on the leaderboard will play through the VCL Italy Relegation.

The Playoffs of Italy Rinascimento will heavily favour the top seeds. The 3rd and 4th seeds will play the Lower Round #1 in an elimination match-up. The top seeds will play Upper finals, with the winner qualifying for the Grand finals. The loser of the Upper Finals will face the winner of the Lower Round #1 in the Lower Finals in a Qualification-elimination match-up. The VCL will conclude with one team qualifying for the Ascension league for a chance to qualify for the VCT EMEA.

The Schedule of VCL Italy Rinascimento will be as follows:

• LCQ 1: December 14-15 (Completed)
• LCQ 2: December 15-16 (Completed)
• Regular Season: January 21 - February 28
  • Matches every Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday for the first three weeks
  • Week 4 and Week 6 to feature two playdays
  • Week 5 to feature a single playday
  • Four Bo1s every playday
  • Games start at 07:00 PM CET
• Playoffs:
  • The playoffs will feature a total of 4 Bo3s
  •  The schedule still needs to be out.
