Valorant Champions 2023 continued its thrilling journey on Day 5 of the playoffs, delivering a riveting spectacle as the competition reached the crucial stage of the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals. Lower Bracket Quarterfinals:
We said goodbye to two teams who were eliminated in the Lower Bracket. This gives us the final 4 teams in the Tournament. And one step closer to crowning the Champions of 2023.
Game 1: LOUD vs EDward Gaming
LOUD keep their Champions run alive, as they get one step closer to defend their throne for another year. LOUD won the series 2-1 against EDG.

Map 1: Bind
LOUD had a decent start on Bind. They managed to win the pistol round. But EDG took the next 2 rounds. LOUD struggled a bit, before managing to find their groove, and take the lead at 6-4. EDG managed to salvage what was left of the first half, as they equalized at 6-6.
EDG had an explosive start in the second half. They managed to take 3 rounds right off the bat. LOUD did try to fight back, as they managed to win 5 of the next 6 rounds. But EDG decided to end things, as they won the next 3 rounds straight to take the win at 13-11.
Map 2: Ascent:
LOUD had a dominant game on Ascent. Even though EDG managed to win the pistol and the next round, LOUD showed off a defensive masterclass. They only allowed EDG to take 2 more rounds, as they ended the first half at 8-4.
LOUD carried their incredible form into the second half. They won 4 rounds right off the bat. EDG could only manage to claw back a single round, as LOUD take the map at a staggering 13-5.
Map 3: Haven
It was a hard fought victory on Haven. LOUD had a strong defensive side. But EDG were not going to give up either. Both teams tried to build momentum, but were denied each time. The first half ended at an even 6-6.
LOUD started off with a bang in the second half. Mounting an impressive attack, they won 5 rounds right from the start. EDG managed to take back 3 rounds, as LOUD put themselves on Map Point just after. EDG managed to claw back 2 more rounds, before LOUD closed out the map at 13-11.
LOUD stay in the fight to defend their Champions title, as they move ahead into the Lower Bracket Semifinals. Whereas, EDG’s time at VALORANT Champions 2023 had come to an end.
Game 2: DRX vs Fnatic
Although DRX managed to put up quite a good fight, it was Fnatic who managed to stay alive. The EMEA Champions won the series 2-1.

DRX had complete domination over Fnatic on Bind. They won the pistol round in the first half. And proceeded to win the next round after that. But Fnatic somehow managed to pull 1 through on their buy round in round 3. But then DRX showed off a defensive masterclass, as they won 9 rounds in a row to end the first half at 11-1.
They carried this momentum through to the second round. They won the 2 rounds required right off the bat. As DRX won the map 13-1, handing Fnatic their worst loss yet in their lifetime.
Map 2: Haven
Fnatic fought back on Haven. They went round-to-round against DRX. Although DRX managed to take the lead, both teams were inseparable. Fnatic equalized to end the first half at 6-6.
However, DRX fell short in their attack. Even though they won the pistol and the 2nd round, Fnatic managed to find their groove. They won 7 of the next 8 rounds win out the map at 13-9.
Map 3: Split
It was a do or die on Split. DRX started off strong as they won 3 rounds right off the bat. But Fnatic managed to get into momentum, as they won 7 out of 8 rounds to take the lead at 7-4. DRX managed to pull back the final round to end the first half at 7-5.
Fnatic had a started the second half with a bang. They won 5 rounds straight from the pistol to get onto Map Point. DRX only managed to claw back a single round. Before Fnatic put the game and the series to rest at 13-6.
Fnatic move ahead to the Lower Bracket Semi Finals, where they will face LOUD. while DRX’s journey at VALORANT Champions has been put to a halt.
