Valorant Challengers League Korea: Split 1 Regular season kicks off today

The Regular season of the first split of the Valorant Challengers League in South Korea, WCG Challengers League, will kick off tomorrow, starting at 04:00 PM KST. WCG Challengers League will feature six invited teams. Additionally, two teams qualified through the intense qualifiers.

Valorant Challengers League Korea Format and Schedule:

The first split of the Valorant Challengers League Korea has four stages; Open Qualifiers, Closed Qualifiers, Regular Season, and Playoffs. The season started with Open Qualifiers, which were divided into four groups. A total of 54 teams played in the Open qualifiers. The first and second groups featured 14 teams, and the rest with 13 teams. The open qualifiers feature a single team from each of the four groups. The Open qualifiers were a single-elimination bracket knockout tournament. All the fixtures in the Open qualifiers were Bo3.

Of the four teams that qualified for the Closed Qualifiers, two qualified for the regular season. The four teams played in a double-elimination bo3 bracket.

Six teams were invited to the regular season, along with the two teams from closed qualifiers. The Regular season will follow a round-robin format. Every team in the regular season will face every other team in the Regular season. The regular season will feature a total of 28 Bo3 matches. The top six teams on the leaderboard will qualify for the Playoffs.

The top two seeded teams will be directly placed in the Upper Semifinals of the playoffs. Bottom four will play the Upper Round 1 to face the top seeds. Playoffs will be a double elimination bracket. A single team will qualify for the Ascension league at the end of both splits. Teams will try to stay at the top throughout the splits. The winner of the Ascension league will get thier hands on the coveted VCT Pacific spot.

Valorant Challengers Korea Schedule:

  • Open Qualifiers: January 14-15
  • Closed Qualifiers: January 15
  • Regular Season: January 26 - February 12
    • Matches every day except Monday
    • Round-Robin bo3s
    • Total of 28 fixtures with two games every game day
    • Matches start at 04:00 PM KST
  • Playoffs: February 16 - February 23
    • All the matches will be Bo3 except the Grand finals

Valorant will broadcast this game in English on Youtube and Twitch. The Games will also be broadcasted in Korean on Twitch, Youtube, and Afreeca TV.
