Cloud9 and FlyQuest stayed hot, and Counter Logic Gaming and 100 Thieves got knocked out  — here's what we learned from the first week of the 2023 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) Spring Playoffs.

In Round 1, FLY won 3-0 against 100T and C9 beat CLG 3-1 to advance to the second round, where Golden Guardians and Evil Geniuses joined them after 3-2 and 3-0 decisions against 100T and CLG, respectively.

FLY and EG were the only undefeated teams in Round 1, and FLY led in both gold spent percentage (58.5%) and gold difference at 15 minutes (1,586). FLY bot laner Lee "Prince" Chae-hwan's 12.3 KDA ratio (8/3/29) led all players, along with tying EG top laner Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho for fewest deaths with 3 in three games.

FLY mid laner Lee "VicLa" Dae-kwang led in kills per game (7.7, or 23 in three games, tied with EG bot laner Ian Victor "FBI" Huang), kill participation (91.5%), kill share (48.9%), damage percentage (34.5%), damage percentage post-15 minutes (38%) and damage per minute (847); the lattermost of which outranks every single playoff team's bot laner, including his own.

Finally, FLY top laner Jeong "Impact" Eon-young led all players at the 10-minute mark in gold difference (493), XP difference (332) and CS difference (19.3).

100T were eliminated from their first playoff as a squad, but their 86 kills in eight games still lead all players -- for now. 100T bot laner Yiliang "Doublelift” Peng currently leads in kills (41 in eight games) and gold share (31.8%). His support Alan "Busio" Cwalina leads all players in assists with 72 in eight games (9 per game), but EG support Philippe "Vulcan" Laflamme's 41 in three games (13.7 per game) is the per-game leader.
