After seven weeks of intense competition, we are finally on the last leg of the competition. The VCT Pacific Superweek kicks off today. Until week 7, we only have three confirmed teams for the playoffs. The weekend will give us three more teams and their seedings. Currently, DRX sits on the top of the leaderboard and will likely finish at the top. The second seed will be a contest between T1, Paper Rex and GenG. With Paper Rex and GenG taking on each other on the first day, the result of the fixture will give us our second seed.

VCT Pacific League Superweek Preview:

The battle for the second seed: Paper Rex vs. GenG:

The first game of the Superweek will be a definite banger. If GenG wins the game, it will win back the first seed of VCT Pacific. If Paper Rex wins the game, it will solidify itself as the second seed of the VCT Pacific. The only situation when neither GenG nor Paper Rex become the second seed is when T1 wins over ZETA Division and DRX, which is extremely unlikely. The Paper Rex vs. GenG game winner will decide the second seed. With Paper Rex getting stronger with every game and GenG on a losing streak, Paper Rex is the favourite to win.

ZETA Division vs. T1:

The game will be necessary for ZETA as the team has already accumulated three losses. A loss here might threaten their playoff chances. For T1, a win here will help them make strides for the second position. ZETA has been looking incredibly strong lately, but a recent loss to Talon and Paper Rex has made them a target. With the momentum, T1 is on a three-game win streak and will likely win over ZETA to have a solid chance to qualify as the second seed.

Team Secret vs. DRX:

After a strong start, Team Secret has been on a losing streak. They lost to ZETA, RRQ and GenG and are currently in a weak position. Taking on DRX at such a crucial point in the tournament is unfortunate for Team Secret. DRX, on the other hand, don't have to win a single game this week and will still stand atop the leaderboard. But losing is unlike DRX, and they will want to finish the season without a single loss. The fixture favours DRX, but Team Secret has their backs against the walls and needs to win for their playoff lives.

Global Esports vs. Detonation FocusMe:

Global Esports made a fantastic comeback in the season, but a loss to RRQ has deteriorated their chances of qualifying for the tournament. Currently sitting on five losses, Global Esports must defeat DFM in the game to even stand a chance of qualifying for the playoffs. DFM, on the other hand, has had a pretty rough season. A win here will merely be a consolation prize for them. Global Esports must defeat DFM with an emphatic scoreline to take on Team Secret in an advantageous position.

Talon Esports vs. Rex Regum Qeon:

Talon's story has been a comeback story of VCT Pacific. After starting with a four-loss streak, Talon took down GenG and ZETA to stand in a position to qualify. The game will be a must-win for Talon. But it's the same case with RRQ. RRQ have been winning games and have put themselves in a solid position to qualify. Despite having three wins, RRQ faces Paper Rex in the last game, which will be tough. RRQ's members have lost to Talon in the past, but RRQ has to put the past behind them to solidify their place in playoffs. Talon themselves are weak, and the -39 round differential is a tough place to be. But winning strong here only improves their chances. The game favours Talon as they have defeated stronger teams, but RRQ has a good chance of winning.

ZETA Division vs. GenG:

If both teams lose their first games of Superweek, A win here will still guarantee qualification. Making it an important game for both teams. Even if the teams win their first game, a win here helps them get into a better seeding for the playoffs. Both teams currently sit at 5W - 3L, and if any team loses their first game, the current fixture makes the game very crucial for their qualification.

T1 vs. DRX:

T1 has already secured playoffs and has a good chance to take the second seed if they win over both ZETA and DRX. While taking down ZETA will be challenging. The DRX game will be more demanding for T1. DRX does not need to win a single game and still qualifies as the first seed. The game favours DRX, who will likely be the winners, but T1 might trouble their Korean brethren.

Team Secret vs. Global Esports:

With TS in an almost definite loss against DRX and Global Esports with a solid chance to win over DFM, the fixture might be the decider to decide the final team to qualify for the playoffs. But that will depend on RRQ's performance at both games. Still, whatever the case, the teams will want to win the last game of the season. Both teams have the potential; the winner will depend on whichever team makes fewer mistakes.

Talon Esports vs. Detonation FocusMe:

The importance of the game for Talon will depend on the results of its previous game. If Talon defeats RRQ, They'd need to beat DFM with an excellent lead to qualify over other teams. On the other hand, DFM has already lost all the chances to make it to the playoffs. But it will try to end the season on a positive note. Talon's current form has the upper hand over DFM.

Rex Regum Qeon vs. Paper Rex:

The final game of the season might or not matter a lot. Paper Rex will try to win to secure a solid second-seed finish. RRQ, on the other hand, can win here and still make it to the playoffs, making it a crucial game for them. But if they win over Talon, their position will be stronger. But still, they might need to win the game depending on the results of the other games. Paper Rex looks super strong, and taking them down will be no easy feat for RRQ.
