The end of an Era: G2 parts ways with French Awp Criminal KennyS

The final member of the original G2 French Super team, KennyS, parts ways with G2 after five years with the organisation. With Kenny gone, the last standing member of the original G2 French Superteam has left. This event marks the end of an era in French CS.

KennyS - The origins of an AWP Criminal

Kenny "KennyS" Schrub was amongst the breakout CS source star who transitioned to CSGO. And at the very start of CSGO, Kenny became notorious for his AWP flicks, and his fast-paced awping was one of the main reasons for the initial AWP nerf by Valve.

KennyS, along with Shox, Scream, and NBK, were amongst the biggest names in French CS, one of the strongest regions in the early days of Counter-Strike. After hopping on multiple rosters, Kenny joined Team EnVyUs alongside NBK, Kioshima, apex and Happy and together, they brought home the second major for French CS.

After winning the major, EnVy struggled to find footing, and in 2017, finally, KennyS, apEx, and Nbk left the team to join Shox, body to create the Notorious French Superteam. This was the first time the leading stars of the French scene, Kenny and Shox, played together after five years on separate rosters.

G2 saw the peak of KennyS, and the team looked like a contender in one of the most competitive CS eras. But an early exit at the Major started "Major" problems in the lineup, and the team broke apart.

The G2 French Team was out, and a new international G2 came to light, but even with NiKo, the team struggled to find consistency, and in 2021, Kenny announced he'd be stepping back from the active roster.

The Present and The Future:

Today, after one year as a streamer, G2 announced the departure of the AWP criminal. This was a historic five years run.

While KennyS might not be the most consistent or decorated awper in CSGO history, He has had the most impact and produced magic with his infamous "Magic Stick." KennyS's awping style has led to many young awpers who follow and makes the flashy style. With Kenny leaving G2, we have officially come to the end of an era.

Kenny also shared a heartfelt grateful message towards the G2 Organisation.

Soon, KennyS announced his return to competitive CSGO, joining Team Falcon alongside ex-teammate NBK, Misutaaa as the team's primary AWP player. The team also consists of hAdji and Python. The complete french roster will compete in the upcoming months.

With KennyS finally making his decisions, watching how he plays and how the team performs would be fun. As KennyS returns to the main stage, let's hope to see more of the famed "Magic Stick"  on the main stage.
