VCT LOCK//IN Day 10 Match Results
Team Secret vs Natus Vincere [0-2]
Secret began with the opening salvo, going to a quick 5-2 lead over NA’VI. However, NA’VI began managing to string together rounds thanks in large part to the terror of “cNed” on the OP. NA’VI would manage to bring it back to a 6-6 half, before Secret took the pistol and conversion round. That would be their last rounds won, as NA’VI stormed to a decisive victory with 7 straight rounds won. On Secret, “JessieVash” remained the highest performing member, dropping a 20/19/4 scoreline on Icebox. The next highest performer for Secret, was “BORKUM”.
On Pearl, NA’VI put on a masterclass, only dropping 3 rounds in the first half. “Shao” had a monstrous game on the Astra, dropping 19/3/5. Moreover, NA’VI heavily out-called Secret, with great rotations and clean retakes. It was sheer dominance as NA’VI demonstrated their mechanical prowess over Secret. Once again, “cNed” on the OP presided over Secret, shutting down any attempts to pull back map control.
Leviatán vs Team Vitality [2-0]
Haven was a closely contested affair for both teams and it went back and forth, ending at 7-5 for Vitality. Leviatán would bite back with 7 rounds of their own, taking it into overtime. Vitality were a tough opponent that had insanely great retakes on Defense. “Twisten” and “MOLSI” in particular, had insanely impactful games, able to facilitate a lot of Vitality’s plays.
On Leviatán’s side, “kiNgg” and “Shyy” especially dropped 27 kills and 30 kills respectively, fighting to achieve overtime for their side. In overtime, it was still closely contested, however, Leviatan shone on Attack, and finally managed to win a Defense side, allowing them to close out the game 16-14.
Vitality had good starts and mid-games, however, seemed to peter out in longer series, and struggled to deal with Leviatán’s site takes. On Pearl, it felt straightforward, as Leviatán closed out the game 13-3. Every clutch and retake, went the way of Lev essentially as well, with Vitality struggling to string together successful rounds. “ceNder” was the sole successful player for Vitality, and the only member of the roster who was able to go positive.
On their Attack half, Vitality seemed to have little answers as to how to execute against a strong Leviatán Defense side. Their site takes fell flat against the double controller setup Leviatán ran, and Vitality were unable to win the straight duels as well.
