The VCT LOCK//IN Alpha Group concluded on Sunday Night. LOUD and DRX beat all the competition to secure the playoffs out of the sixteen playing teams. Despite losing the matches, there were players from every team that truly impressed everyone and exceeded expectations. Let's look at some of the best players at the VCT LOCK//IN.

Best LAN Debutants of VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023 Alpha Group:

The list features the LAN debutants who took the stage for the first time but left a mark on everyone.

LOUD Tuyz & Cauanzin:

Both the youngsters had to fill the big void left by star players Sacy and Pancada, and they did exactly that. Both had impressive performances and clutches and surprised everyone with how calmly the youngsters handled the pressure.

NRG s0m:

After playing locally for two years, s0m finally got a chance to appear on the big stage, and he proved why he deserves to play on the same team as the Optic Core and Ardiis. s0m helped NRG clinch some unfavorable rounds and left a mark on everyone.

TALON Jitboys & GarnetS:

TALON upset EG in the second round and made DRX bleed, and a major part of their triumph was the duelist GarnetS and flex JitboyS. Despite being debutants, Jitboys and GarnetS flexed on everyone and proved how scary Talon could be.

GIANTS Cloud:

The Giants Sova Cloud just added to the long list of Recon players who are built differently. Cloud's mechanical dexterity took everyone by surprise and, paired with his poise, made a deadly combination of a stat demon.

The Evil Geniuses Core:

Composed of Jawgemo, c0m, and Boostio, the EG core displayed impressive performance and outshone the LAN veterans of Ethan and BcJ on the team. Jawgemo on Jett displayed how good he is on LAN too.

Karmine Corp Shin:

Despite playing alongside two of the biggest French stars in Scream and Nivera, Shin shone in his ways. The Youngster displayed some of the best Valorant to date and displayed flexibility par none.

Best Returning Players of VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023 Alpha Group:

The list features players who returned to the International LAN after a while and performed better than expected.

Cloud9 Xeppa & Leaf:

Xeppa and Leaf are long-time C9 members who last played on the international stage in 2021. In the same team with the best player of 2022 in Yay, Xeppa and Leaf made a case to be the strongest player. Top fragging for C9 for most maps, Xeppa and Leaf, exceeded expectations.

GenG k1ng:

k1ng last played on an international stage with Vision Striker and was one of the best players for the team. Returning to the main stage, K1ng displayed why VS was strong, dominating the scoreboard in a losing match against LOUD. In the single series he played, K1ng had an ACS of 267.5 and some crucial kills.

EG Ethan:

After missing the international stage for over a year, Ethan returned in new colors. Representing EG, Ethan was the best-rated player for EG and played the Flex role to perfection. Ethan aided the EG core in securing a dominant map win and displayed what the new EG could do.

MIBR Heat:

The star of one of the best Marshal play of 2021, Heat returned on the International stage after a year and dominated with the duelist again. Boasting 250 ACS, Heat proved he still has all the talent necessary to go toe to toe with the best teams in the Americas.

Most Improved players of VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023 Alpha Group:

The list consists of players who improved in the short amount of time since the last VCT season.

DRX Rb:

DRX has always been a Stax, Mako, or BuZz show, but in a surprise turn of events, Rb turned up for DRX. In the short time since Valorant champions 2022, Rb improved himself astronomically to become a star in his own right. With ten successful clutches under his belt, Rb was the clutch player of the Alpha group.

LOUD Less:

Less has always been a solid performer for LOUD, but Less popped off with Sacy and Pancada leaving the team. One of the top-rated players for LOUD, Less had six clutches and dragged LOUD out of some pretty sticky situations.

KARMINE CORP Nivera:

The younger Benrlitom brother has been one of the silent superstars in the making, and VCT LOCK//IN saw Nivera take it one step further. Nivera was among the highest-rated players in the competition and displayed his Oping talent and versatility playing Astra and Omen. With Nivera playing well, Karmine Corp will be a force in VCT EMEA.

There were multiple good plays and impressive performances throughout. The VCT LOCK//IN has already set the stage for the upcoming VCT Leagues. With the Omega group yet to play, the excitement of VCT is far from over. VCT LOCK//IN will resume on 22nd February and feature another week of amazing Valorant action.
