As per Sheep Esports’ Alejandro “Anonimotum” Gomes reports, Team Vitality is set to bench Head Coach Salah “Salah” Barakat.

The change comes after the team’s disappointing results. During VCT EMEA Split 1, they were amongst the weakest in the region, bottom of the Alpha Group.

The former FaZe Clan and Akrew coach transitioned to Europe in May 2022 with OG LDN UTD, a collaborative effort between OG and London United. The team enjoyed moderate success before the team was disbanded in September 2022.

Ahead of VCT 2023, Team Vitality acquired Salah, along with Destrian and MOLSI. They additionally added Twisten, BONECOLD and ceNder.

The team performed well at their first showing as a team. They even qualified for the EMEA playoffs but faltered there. They then decided to forfeit from the VCT EMEA LCQ after Twisten’s sudden demise after the regular season concluded.

During the off-season, they rebuilt around ceNder, bringing in runneR, Sayf, Kicks and trexx. Destrian also played for the team during Kickoff (subbing in for trexx).

At Kickoff, they qualified for the Play-in stage but lost to Karmine Corp. During the Split 1, they had some strong showings against Team Heretics, FUT and GiantX, but a loss to KOI ultimately ruined their playoff chances.

With the results, Team Vitality missed another international tournament and the unsatisfactory results called for a change.

With Salah benched, the team will be looking to fill in the position with someone perhaps better suited.

Gorilla, the team’s current Assistant Coach, might also be promoted to the Head Coach position.

Team Vitality has until Split 2 to make changes to the squad, ensuring they come back and qualify for VALORANT Champions 2024.
