The series between Team Liquid against Gaimin Gladiators was the highlight of yesterday’s DreamLeague Season 19. It was the first time both teams went up against each other in Patch 7.33. Gaimin Gladiators always dominated the match whenever they went up against Team Liquid before yesterday. However, Team Liquid was the first team to figure out Patch 7.33 as they prevailed over their arc-nemesis, Gaimin Gladiators.  Here’s a quick action of what happened.

Game 1

Game 1 saw both teams playing aggressively since the laning stage. After the laning stage ended, Gaimin Gladiators were ahead in net worth and kills. However, as Gaimin Gladiators secured the aegis looking for a fight to solidify their lead and momentum, it quickly backfired upon them.

Team Liquid predicted it would happen and responded perfectly, showing their hard carry Phantom Lancer as bait while the whole team patiently waited behind him. As GG went on PL, they jumped backlines, wiping the Gaimin Gladiators off the map and taking the game back into their favour.

Team Liquid’s midlaner Michał "Nisha" Jankowski played marvellously on his midlane Monkey King, acting as a barrier between GG and his team. As their Phantom Lancer came online, they solidified their lead, and at 34 minutes, GG tapped out of game 1.

Game 2

In game 2, Team Liquid drafted a Muerta hard carry and a midlane Void Spirit backed by an offlane Necrophos. The laning stage looked dreadful for them. Gaimin Gladiators completely shut down all three cores of Liquid during the laning stage.

However, as the game progress, Team Liquid brings numbers to every team fight with hopes of the team fight going their way. At 20 minutes,  Liquid got the chance they were looking for and slowly started to make their way back into the game. With Muerta coming online,  Liquid was ahead, but Gaimin Gladiators weren’t out yet. At 44 minutes, a team fight at the mid-lane drastically turns the tides for Team Liquid. They were able to push the high ground, gaining two sets of barracks. Gaimin Gladiators did their best to defend their base with buybacks and insane late-game plays. However, a high-ground push at 75 minutes by Gaimin Gladiators gave Liquid the opening to end the match. With a 2-0 clean sweep, Team Liquid advanced to DreamLeague Season 19 Grand finals.  Gaimin Gladiators will need to go through Shopify Rebellion to earn their revenge.
