Team Falcons Make MENA Proud in RLCS World Championship Wildcard
It’s no real secret that the world of Rocket League has been completely dominated by the European and North American regions in recent years. However, it looks like that’s all about to change. After Rule One placed 4th at the Spring Split Major, landing themselves directly into the group stage at the World Championship in Dusseldorf, this region has even more surprises in store. Team Falcons are coming in hot at the RLCS World Championship Wildcard round, beating out some tough opponents. Perhaps it’s finally time for NA and the EU to be knocked off their pedestal.

The Road to the Group Stage is Underway
The last couple of days have seen some intense Rocket League action. Sixteen teams are competing for their chance to play in the group stage. They're well aware that this is the most important Rocket League tournament of the year.
This year’s tournament is pretty cut throat. There are up to 5 rounds played in the Wildcard round. If a team loses 3 of them, they are automatically eliminated. At this point, that means that Valiant and Gaimin Gladiators have already bid goodbye to any chance of lifting the trophy. But, unsurprisingly, things are looking much better for those staple EU and NA teams including Complexity Gaming, G2 Esports and Moist Esports.
However, there’s still a long way to go if these teams make it to the top 8. From there, they’ll have to face Major winners and world class players. Not only are defending champions Team BDS waiting for them in the groups, but as are Karmine Corps, Team Vitality and Gen.G Mobil1 Racing. Things are only just getting started in this tournament.
Surprise results in the RLCS World Championship Wildcard
After beating out Elevate, KRU Esports and fellow region hopefuls Twisted Minds, it looks like Team Falcons are here to stay. There are only two rounds left of the Wildcard round. But Falcon have not only won their first 3 series, but they’re currently sitting at the top of the group. Currently, Teams Falcons have an overall match score of 12 - 5 with a +7 game differential. It seems that fans will almost certainly be seeing Team Falcons in the next round of the tournament.
This MENA team, made up of Ahmad, oKhaliD and trk511 aren’t exactly new to the scene. Since placing second in their first ever S-tier event back at the Spring Split Major 2022, things haven’t quite gone to plan. Despite consistently placing 1st in the MENA region, Team Falcons have not yet translated that into success on an international level.
Much More to Come
Perhaps the RLCS World Championship Wildcard round is the start of something yet to come. MENA is a region that has been coming up on the flanks for some time now. It may be time for them to make their mark on Rocket League history permanently. There’s a long road from the Wildcard Draft through to the grand finals for Team Falcons. But after such a strong start, perhaps fans can dare to hope that they’ll be going all the way!
