DreamHack Rotterdam was one of the most exciting CS:GO events organized on Dutch soil. The fans were amazing and the teams gave them a great show to watch. In the end, Outsiders won by defeating ENCE in the Grand Final, despite the fact that they had lost against the same team in the Group Stage.

The A-tier tournament was very brief and lasted only three days. But during this time, we were able to watch a lot of high-level CS:GO matches cast by people we rarely get to hear these days in this game, such as James Bardolph.

Three of the competitors were tier-1 teams that will have qualified for IEM Rio Major. So even though the event itself was not an S-tier one, the semifinals and the Grand Final were quite epic.

The total prize pool was $100.000 and Outsiders won half of the amount. On top of that, they also received an invitation to ESL Pro League Conference S17. This tournament will determine some of the participants of ESL Pro League S17.

Group Stage Results

In the Group Stage of DreamHack Rotterdam 2022, the favorites encountered some really tough opponents that fought hard to avoid elimination.

Outsiders had two rough maps against Fluxo and needed overtime rounds to win. They also lost the Winners Match against ENCE (16-14), which made it seem like ENCE and MOUZ were the favorites.

In Group A, MOUZ smashed their opponents and only lost 10 rounds in total. Eternal Fire finished 2nd.

Playoffs Results

In the Playoffs Stage, Outsiders eliminated MOUZ in the first semifinal, while ENCE won their match against Eternal Fire. In both cases, the winning teams needed three maps to close the match.

Given the results of the Group Stage, the Grand Final looked lost for Outsiders before it started. But to everyone’s surprise, the CIS team returned much better prepared and managed to avenge their loss against ENCE.

The first map, Dust II, was over quickly: 16-8. The second map was much harder. But despite ENCE’s best efforts to make a comeback after a disastrous first half (11-4), the Finnish team lost with a heartbreaking score: 16-14.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
