Nigma Galaxy Ends TI 12 Qualifiers With Disappointment
The action in the Western European International Qualifiers is heating up as the lower bracket elimination matches start. Unfortunately, Nigma Galaxy will no longer be participating in the qualifiers as they were eliminated by Alliance in their first lower bracket series. The team’s been struggling to qualify for The Internationals for some time, and they have now reached their lowest point. Everyone thought the series against Alliance should be in their favour, but the team couldn’t pull through when it mattered the most. As a result, Alliance dominated them and took the series 2-1. Here’s a quick recap of the action that happened.
Game 1
Alliance opted for a draft consisting of meta heroes - an offlane Legion Commander, a midlane Invoker and a safelane Naga Siren in game 1. Their draft offers them an assured win as the game progresses. Nigma Galaxy, however, opted to play around their safelane Faceless Void. They backed him with an offlane Beast Master and a midlane Pangolier. Alliance dominated the laning stage with their draft and tried to snowball their lead. They took objectives and forced NGX to play their game. Successfully, they took the game at 37 minutes.
Game 2
In game 2, NGX went with a fast-paced draft consisting of a safelane Slark backed by a support IO, a midlane Pangolier and an offlane Doom. As the laning stage started, Nigma started implementing their strategy. Although Alliance tried to match Nigma’s tempo, NGX brought in more numbers to come out on top. Eventually, having no answers to the pace of the game and their game plan collapsing, at 31 minutes, Alliance tapped out from game 2.
Game 3
In the deciding game, both teams had a similar draft. Alliance had an offlane Dawn Breaker, midlane Leshrac and a safelane Faceless Void, while Nigma Galaxy had an offlane Enigma, midlane Pangolier and a safelane Monkey King. Although Nigma’s draft can come online more easily, Alliance played the laning stage methodically, giving them an early advantage. They forced Nigma to respond to their plays. Despite NGX’s best efforts to defend its objectives, they couldn’t. Alliance was always a step ahead of them in every curve. Nigma Galaxy played the match to the bitter end, and Alliance came out on top at 41 minutes.
The elimination marked the third year since Nigma Galaxy last attended The Internationals. Moreover, the captain of NGX, Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi, has been receiving several backlashes on his understanding of the game. Alliance will face OG in their upcoming elimination series.
