New Worlds 2025 Details Unveiled: New Trophy, Anthem Performer, and More
As the final teams secure their spots at Worlds 2025, Riot Games has unveiled new details for the game's biggest event of the year. Hard as it may be to believe, this year's Worlds will be celebrating 15 years of LoL Esports, elevating expectation for the tournament.
When Worlds 2025 heads to China, fans can expect a new-look Summoner's Cup, a new Worlds anthem performer, and a closing ceremony to remember!

The Iconic Worlds Trophy, with a Twist
The champions of this year's Worlds will be handed a slightly different version of the traditional Summoner's Cup. The new Worlds trophy will keep the silhouette of the original, while featuring "modern updates." One of the biggest changes (and one the winning team is sure to be thankful for) will be the trophy's weight, which will be nearly half that of its previous edition.
Some things will stay the same, however. As is tradition, the Summoner's Cup will be engraved with the names of all 14 past Worlds Champions.
Anthem: G.E.M. Arrives on the Scene
Born in Shanghai but raised in Hong Kong, Gloria Tang Sze-wing (G.E.M.) is one of China's most popular music artists. Now, the 34-year-old has been tasked with delivering the Worlds 2025 Anthem to League of Legends fans everywhere.
As always, this year's music video will continue to highlight some of the most iconic players, teams, and moments in the scene, honoring the game's rich esports history. Eager to hear the Worlds 2025 anthem? The video will released in October (exact date TBA) on the League of Legends YouTube Channel.
“Having followed LoL Esports for some time, I’ve been deeply moved by the fighting spirit on stage. The courage to sacrifice for the team and the strength to hold on to one’s beliefs resonate with me not only as an artist, but also as someone who has risen against the odds and poured everything into pursuing a dream. I hope to capture that spirit through music and share it with fans all around the world." -G.E.M.
Finals Opening Ceremony: A Show to Remember
Once more, the tournament's Grand Finals will kick off with an opening ceremony featuring a mix of live music, storytelling, and top-notch production. This year's opening ceremony will take place at Chengdu’s Dong’an Lake Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium, a fitting arena for an event of this caliber. G.E.M. and Anyma will be headlining the performance with the support of TEYA and Chrissy Costanza.

Celebrating 15 Years of LoL Esports
From Fnatic lifting the trophy at the very first League of Legends World Championship in 2011, to the biggest names in the game taking the stage at Worlds 2025 in China, this year's event will serve to celebrate 15 years of legendary action.
To mark the occasion, Riot Games will be honoring past Worlds champions with new elite chromas. Since 2019, all Worlds winners skins have received chromas. Now, Invictus Gaming (2018) and Samsung Galaxy (2017) will also receive chromas for their Worlds skins. With IG being the first Chinese team to win the prestigious trophy and SSG lifting theirs in Beijing, China, it seems only fitting for their achievements to be celebrated along with the tournament's return to Chinese soil.
You can expect the IG and SSG Worlds skins chromas to release on October 8th. They will arrive with Patch 25.20, the very patch where Worlds 2025 will be played.
"What started in small studios with homegrown broadcasts has grown into sold-out arenas and millions watching worldwide. As we mark this milestone, we honor the players, teams, and unforgettable moments that built our sport and shaped the future of competitive gaming.” -Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports
