N0tail was watching an ESL One Kuala Lumpur series between Team Falcons and G2.IG with Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen, on OG’s stream.

The two were having a conversation when Grubby mentioned he had recently watched True Sight 2018. He said he examined the shoulder bump accident the OG’s captain was in.

“ I recently analyzed the shoulder bump”, Grubby said.

“ Oh, you did? And it was on purpose.”

The Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne veteran replied, agreeing with OG’s former in-game leader:

“Yeah, it was on purpose.”

The two laughed before N0tail commented further on the event.

“What a Dumb thing to do on camera,” Johan remarked. The two chuckled a bit before N0tail added:“ Yeah, well, you can’t handle losing… You gotta get physical.”

The bump to which both players referred occurred five years ago after the lower bracket finals of The International 2018. Back then, OG secured their grand-finals spot through the upper-bracket finals. However, the opponent they defeated, PSG LGD, was knocked down to the lower bracket.

In the lower bracket finals of TI8, the Chinese juggernauts defeated Evil Geniuses to secure their place in the grand finals. They were hoping to avenge their earlier loss. Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen was part of the EG team that had been eliminated.

After EG's defeat, as both finalist teams were making their way to the stage, Cr1t- shoulder bumped into N0tail, who was on his way to take his place on the grand finals stage. The former OG leader shook off the bump as he was in an interview. The incident was recorded on camera.

Many fans argue whether Cr1t-’s bump against N0tail was intentional at the time. However, the recent comments from Johan expressed his thoughts on the situation.

A little backstory

OG was between a hard place and a rock in the time leading to The International 2018. Their roster was ripped apart by Evil Geniuses, putting their chances at TI at risk.

However, losing his teammates was a growing experience for Johan. He and the team’s coach, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, assembled a last-minute roster and participated in the TI qualifiers.

What happened next was forever remembered by the entire Dota 2 community. OG beat the odds stacked against them to immortalise their names on the prestigious Aegis Of The Champions.

It’s been five years since the bump between Cr1t and N0tail. The moment visualized the pressure players had to face during the competition. Nowadays, Cr1t- is playing for Team Falcons, and N0tail has retired from the competitive scene.
