Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov, the Bulgarian rifler, has been officially released from Team Liquid after a relatively short five-month tenure. The decision comes after a period of inactivity for Rainwaker, who was benched from the lineup in October. The team resorted to using coach Damian "daps" Steele as a temporary stand-in during the BLAST Fall Showdown Americas.

A Challenging Transition for Rainwaker

Rainwaker initially joined Liquid in June, making the move from 500. However, his performance during this period yielded a modest 0.96 rating on average. This less-than-impressive statistic coincided with the team's struggle to secure favorable results. The attempt to transition to a European-majority roster ultimately proved to be an ill-fated venture for both the player and the organization.

Expected Overhaul and New Additions

Rumors have long circulated regarding a complete overhaul of Team Liquid, with several notable names expected to join the roster in 2024. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, Casper "cadiaN" Møller, Felipe "skullz" Medeiros, and Wilton "zews" Prado are among the reported additions. These players are set to join Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis and Keith "NAF" Markovic in what seems to be a significant restructuring effort for the team.

The End of Rainwaker's Chapter with Liquid

Rainwaker's departure has been on the horizon, especially since reports indicated major changes within the team. His release marks the conclusion of a chapter that saw him play just 34 maps under the Liquid banner. The organization appears to be gearing up for a fresh start with a revamped roster.

What's next for Team Liquid? As they bid farewell to Rainwaker, the organization seems poised for a new era with a revamped roster. Will the upcoming changes bring success to the team?

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
