LCK Awards set for December 22: 100 fans to be invited
LCK Awards make their return in 2022, taking place on December 22 at IVEX Studios in Gwangmyeong, South Korea. This year, 100 fans are set to be invited to the awards, to celebrate the very best the LCK has to offer.
RETURN TO NORMALCY
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 LCK Awards held last year was a private event, closing off any fan attendance. For 2023, 100 fans will be sent invites to the awards show, with details on the selection process to be annouced on the LCK's official Twitter.
The LCK Awards will announce the Player of the Split from Spring and Summer, Spring and Summer Finals MVP, Rookie of the Year, Best Coach, LCK First MVP team, and Regular Split MVP. To celebrate the LCK's 10th year anniversary, a player will also be named 2022 Player of the Year as an award show special.
WHO COULD BE UP FOR AWARDS?
Taking a look at the 2022 LCK Summer Awards can give an idea of how the LCK Awards will go.
Rookie of the Year was awarded to KT Rolster's mid laner Lee "Vicla" Dae-kwang at the 2022 LCK Summer Awards, so it's possible to see him win the same award at the 2022 LCK Awards.
With Korea's fourth seed DRX taking home the Worlds 2022 Summoners Cup, there is a chance to see lots of love from the DRX organization. Although DRX performed extremely well internationally, their performance the past two LCK splits were not as hot, which will impact award selection.
T1 ended the Spring 2022 Split at an incredible 18-0, not dropping a single game in the regular season. Similarly, Gen.G finished the 2022 Summer Split at an insane 17-1, eventually sweeping their way to winning the 2022 Summer Split. Definitely expect to see T1 and Gen.G take many of the awards.
The LCK Awards will take place on December 22, with no word on which channel the awards will be streamed on at this moment.
