After a long and tiring journey, Heroic finally lifted their first LAN trophy. Cadian and crew went through criticism, hate, and many hardships to reach the podium, and the joy was visible. The team also qualified for the Blast Premier World finals with a victory at the Blast Premier Fall finals. Ahead of the World Finals, Today, Heroic Twitter announced Stavn will be taking a break from the team and  k0nfig will stand in for the team.

Stavn and Heroic:

Today, Heroic on Twitter announced Martin "Stavn" Lund, the young star rifler of the team, will be taking a short hiatus before the 2023 CSGO season. Heroic had made the decision earlier this year and solidified the decision after the Blast Premier Fall Finals. The team will be looking to start strong next year, and giving stavn a much-needed break will be a start for them.

Stavn joined the team in 2020 and has been one of the strongest pieces in Heroic. The young Dane is responsible for many Heroic wins in the Online era and has consistently performed on the roster. During the team's major run, Stavn was one of the critical pieces in the team's victory. After winning the trophy after two years of consistent efforts at Blast Premier Fall finals, the young player needed a break, and Heroic decided on that. Stavn will be back on the roster ahead of the 2023 season.

K0nfig Standing-in for Heroic:

As a stand-in for stavn, Heroic chose to go for Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke. k0nfig played for Astralis as one of the core members, but after an altercation escalated to a dispute, landing k0nfig in a hospital, Astralis decided to part ways with the Dane. We have already covered the story, and you can read it here.

k0nfig has since confirmed he is talking to a therapist and will return stronger. The Rifler sat down with Dexerto Editor Luis Mira and discussed his current situation and his desire to return to competitive CS:GO as a better player and a person.

With Stavn taking a break, Heroic decided to go for k0nfig as a stand-in for the young rifler. k0nfig will join the Danish brethren and have a chance to show the world how he has changed and will be looking to make a lasting impact.

Heroic announced k0nfig standing in on Twitter and commented,

"We believe Kristian is the best possible replacement when exploring our options. Despite not having stavn with us for the World Final, we hope to continue our good form and Kristian is a great player that is hungry to show the world he has a place in the absolute top of CS:GO."

This will be k0nfig’s second chance, and it depends on him what he makes of the opportunity. Heroic made a bold choice by taking a chance on k0nfi, but the rifler is LAN proven and will be hungrier than ever. Heroic will play in the Blast Premier World Finals 2022 starting 14th December and will be looking to add another trophy to the case. If they manage to pull it off, it will also be a great redemption story for k0nfig.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
