After Twistzz returned to FaZe Clan following the conclusion of Fissure Playground #2, Team Liquid was left with an incomplete roster. While EliGE was rumored to come back, the jcobbb move seemed to shut the door on that possibility. Fortunately for Liquid fans, the move is all but confirmed, as the Frag Blocktober roster list leaked his inclusion.

Is EliGE actually back?

With Team Liquid yet to make an official announcement, it’s hard to confirm if EliGE is rejoining the roster permanently or just subbing in until a replacement is found. Rumors suggested he would join as part of a trade with FaZe Clan, but the jcobbb signing indicated that deal fell through.

Regardless, for North American Counter-Strike fans, a potential return is an occasion for joy—EliGE represents 1/5 of the Team Liquid dynasty that dominated 2019.

Will the new Team Liquid work?

For all of EliGE’s talent, roster success in Counter-Strike comes down to synergy—something best illustrated by his FaZe stint and Twistzz’s second run on Liquid, where potential didn’t translate into results. That doesn’t mean EliGE won’t work on Liquid, but it doesn’t guarantee he will either.

On paper, the lineup has a strong balance of riflers, supported by Ultimate’s AWP. If Ultimate can establish consistency, EliGE’s aggressive rifling alongside NertZ and NAF could provide the spark Liquid needs to reach playoffs or beyond. While not necessarily an upgrade over Twistzz, EliGE’s controlled aggression may help the team find stable form.

Before Fragadelphia Blocktober, Team Liquid will compete at Birch Cup, an offline B-tier event in three days. The organization may confirm the move before then. The choice to attend the event is strategic—ensuring the new member plays at least five VRS-enabled matches so the new roster is eligible for the Major invite, further solidifying EliGE’s place in the roster, at least until Budapest.
