Fnatic's Dota2 History

One of the big brands in the Dota2 scene has decided to step down. This long-standing giant has been in professional Dota2 since 2011. Starting in the European region, they were the runner-ups in their first tournament. Eventually, the organization gained momentum, with HoN players moving to Dota2. The team consisted of none other than 2-time TI winner "N0tail" and Tal “Fly” Aizik. Fnatic was invited to The International 2013, after which they were a part of every TI. In 2015 Fnatic moved to the SEA region and acquired its best performance in TI6, placing 4th. Fnatic has dominated the SEA region for many years, only falling short in The Internationals.

Reason for stepping down

The organization built passionate and supportive Dota2 fans in the SEA region. Recently they had to make a tough, but necessary decision to back down from the DPC. Needing time to reflect on the sustainability and future, Fnatic extended its heartfelt thanks to the players, staff, and fanbase.

During the 2023 Winter Tour, Fnatic placed last in Division I regional qualifiers, forcing the team to relegate to Division II.

Supporting the players and staff

After the big decision, Fnatic shows gratitude to its players and staff by making sure they have a new home before formally leaving. The current roster consists of Kim “Gabbi” Santos, Armel “Armel” Tabios, Kim “kpii” Sau-Jing, Djardel “DJ” Mampusti, Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla. The team will part ways with the organization after the ongoing BTS Pro Series.

Future in Dota2

The organization has not given any details about what the future holds for them. Although, Pao, the team Director said "Fnatic’s support, especially in times where others would have long since given up, is no joke. It is sad that our chapter ends here, but I, along with the players and staff, am happy for all the memories. Until next time, Fnatic."

"DJ" the team's long-standing support also mentioned that he is grateful for what Fnatic has done for him. He also said that they will be an important part of his life and wishes them the best in future endeavours.
