Split remains

Fnatic had an incredible start on Lotus. They managed to take 8 rounds right off the bat on their attacking side. EG only managed to claw back 2 rounds, before the first half ended 10-2. It was a similar story in the second half. Fnatic managed to take the pistol round, and EG won the next round. But then Fnatic took the 2 rounds required to win the map 13-3 in dominant fashion.

Fracture was EG’s territory. The North American outfit had a stellar start similar to Fnatic in the last map. Fnatic only managed to take 3 rounds, as EG showed off a defensive masterclass to take the first half 10-3. Fnatic did manage to pull back quite a few rounds in the second half, including a 4 round win streak. But EG managed to push through, and won the map 13-9 off the back of a 3 round win streak.

Split was a very even back and forth between the two teams. Neither team let up, and managed to end the first half 6-6. Fnatic had a strong start in the second half, as they managed to take 3 rounds right off the bat. These were crucial, as both teams were trading rounds with each other. Finally, in round 24, Fnatic finally managed to take the map at 13-11.

Fnatic advanced to the Grand Finals of VCT Masters Tokyo. While Evil Geniuses got relegated to the Lower Bracket Finals.

Game 2: NRG vs Paper Rex

NRG managed to stay in the competition, as they eliminate the top seed from the Pacific League Paper Rex in a 2-1 series.

NRG ban Fracture

PRX ban Haven

NRG pick Pearl

PRX pick Lotus

NRG ban Ascent

PRX ban Split

Bind remains

Both teams were inseparable from each other on Pearl. Both teams were trading rounds with each other in the first half, but NRG managed to come out on top, as they ended the first half 7-5 on their defense. However, PRX had a better second half on their own defensive side. NRG managed to get to Map Point first, but PRXmanaged to push through, and forced the map into Overtime. PRX stole the map from NRG in Overtime, as they won 3 out of the 4 rounds to take the map 15-13.

NRG answered back on Lotus in quite the dominant fashion. They showed off an attacking masterclass, as they took the first half at a ridiculous 10-2. PRX did try to fight back, as they took 4 rounds in a row. But NRG decided to end the map, and took the win at 13-6.

It all came down to Pearl. NRG had a decent start on their attacking side, and managed to secure the lead at 7-5 in the first half. However, PRX had a strong attack of their own. They managed to keep NRG on their toes, and only allowed them to take only 4 rounds in the second half. After a fierce last few rounds, PRX managed to secure the map in round 24 at 13-11.

Paper Rex move on to the Lower Bracket Finals, where they will face Evil Geniuses for the spot in the Grand Finals. NRG have been eliminated from VCT Masters Tokyo.
