ESL Pro League Season 17, the bi-annual month-long CSGO event organized by ESL, kicked off on March 1st with Group B matches. The group featured eight teams: Heroic, Movistar Riders, BIG, Complexity, Furia, Imperial Esports, SAW and MOUZ.

ESL Pro League Season 17 features a new format with 32 teams instead of 24. The teams are divided into four groups of eight each. Each group plays a round-robin format with best-of-three matches. The playoffs will be played in a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches until the grand final which will be best-of-five.

The tournament boasts a prize pool of $750,000 USD. And offers points for ESL Pro Tour ranking and BLAST Premier circuit. It also serves as an opportunity for teams to showcase their form and strategies ahead of the Blast.tv Paris Major.

Top Teams:

Heroic were in dominant form, only dropping a single map in their Upper Bracket run. The Danish powerhouse faced MOUZ in the Upper Bracket Finals, and humbled the international roster in a 2-0 sweep.

MOUZ had a perfect run in the Upper Bracket, leading up to the finals against Heroic. But the Danish squad was too much for Dexter and his boys to handle, losing out 2-0, but still managing to qualify for play-offs.

Despite being dropped to the Middle Bracket, Furia showed great consistency against Movistar Riders and BIG to clinch that second spot to the play-offs.

Finally in the Lower Bracket, Movistar Riders were given another shot at qualification, and they made the most of it as they breezed past SAW and BIG. They took up the final spot for play-offs.

Here is the full bracket:

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
