Dota 2 Collector’s Cache Revealed - Time to Vote!
It’s that time once again! The Diretide Battle Pass collector’s cache has been released and players can now cast their votes. The skins that end with the most votes will be a part of the next Treasures. Community lead caches have been a significant part of Battle Passes for a number of years now and this year’s might actually be one of the most exciting aspects of the whole 19-week Pass!
Fans create brand new skins for favorite heroes
The skins in the cache are created by community users and submitted to Valve through the game. Among the hundreds of submissions, only 128 have made it through to the Battle Pass cache. From there, players who have paid for the pass can vote for their favorites to be added to Treasures by simply “liking” or “disliking” the images.
Players also have the option to demo all of the skins and see how they work with each of the abilities. Not every ability is going to look good with a skin so it’s worth trying your favorites out.
Heroes with the most new skins
There are always going to be heroes that feature heavily in these caches; they’re usually fairly new heroes that don’t have many cosmetics but are still popular in the community in terms of play. Fans of support heroes such as Phoenix or Clockwerk may be disappointed by just one skin in the whole 128 item cache!
But Marci, Dawnbreaker, Snapfire and Primal Beast fans will certainly be pleased! All of these skin-neglected heroes have multiple options to pick from. And you don’t have to pick just one for each hero, you can “like” any and all of the skins.
Marci
As one of the newest and most contested heroes at TI 11, Marci is certainly due a skin or two. Some fans might be disappointed by a seeming lack of variety though. All of the skins on offer are certainly on a theme. Whether she’s wearing cat ears, a maid outfit or a little backpack, Marci is leaning into the cuter side of her look.
Primal Beast
On the exact opposite side of the spectrum is Primal Beast. He has four skins available in the cache and while they again follow a theme, they’re definitely much less cute than Marci’s! The heavy red and black armored looks would make even the most confident mid laner lose their nerve a little!
Snapfire
Snapfire fans rejoice! Since her release in 2019, Snapfire has had only one skin added, which costs over 60 USD. It seems that that could all be about to change though! Snapfire has 4 skins in the cache, each with a new shape for Mortimer. By far, the fan favorite appears to be a snail with fantastically googly eyes. But there’s a different lizard and adorable crocodile to choose from too.
When voting, it’s important to remember that it’s not going to be easy for your favorite skins to make it through. “Liking” too many of the skins could mean that the one you like best doesn’t make it through, so use them sparingly!
