One of Counter-Strike's most decorated players could be making a surprising move to North America. Nicolai "device" Reedtz, the legendary Danish AWPer, is reportedly in advanced negotiations with 100 Thieves to join their newly reformed CS2 roster. The potential transfer would mark a dramatic shift for both the player and the organization, with the latter making its grand return to Counter-Strike after a five-year absence.

Building a European Superteam

The North American organization officially exited the Counter-Strike scene in 2020, but recent developments signal their ambitious comeback. The organization secured a major sponsorship deal with Roobet and announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art training facility in Serbia. This European base positions them strategically in the heart of competitive CS2, where the scene thrives most intensely.

The organization has already assembled a formidable management team, with Sean "sgares" Gares serving as Head of FPS and Graham "messioso" Pitt as Head of CS Operations.

100 Thieves has also secured their first player signing with former FaZe star Håvard "rain" Nygaard, who will take on the in-game leader role for the new roster. According to multiple reports, negotiations between device and 100 Thieves are in an active stage, though no contract has been officially signed yet.

If the deal materializes, device would join rain as the second confirmed member of the lineup, giving 100 Thieves two established European stars with championship pedigree.

From Astralis Icon to Fresh Start

Device stands among the greatest CS players of all time, having earned over $2.1 million in prize money throughout his career. His resume includes multiple Major championships and an Intel Grand Slam title with Astralis during their era of dominance. However, recent years have been challenging for the 30-year-old star. After a stint with Ninjas in Pyjamas that ended with burnout-related issues, device returned to Astralis but failed to recapture his former glory.

The move to 100 Thieves could provide device with a fresh start and renewed motivation. Joining rain in a project backed by serious financial investment and infrastructure demonstrates the organization's commitment to competing at the highest level. For 100 Thieves, acquiring players of device and rain's caliber shows they are building a roster that combines European experience with American capital, creating what they hope will be a new powerhouse in the global CS2 scene.

NA Organization, European Ambitions

If finalized, this transfer represents one of the most significant moves in recent Counter-Strike history. It signals that top-tier European talent is willing to join North American organizations when the right infrastructure and ambition are present. With experienced management in sgares and messioso, along with championship-caliber players like rain and potentially device, 100 Thieves appears determined to make an immediate impact upon their return to competitive Counter-Strike.
