CS2 Inferno A Site Changes Once Again: Balcony Opens Up, Graveyard Closes Down

CS2 Inferno A Site Changes Once Again: Balcony Opens Up, Graveyard Closes Down

Once again, Valve just nudged Inferno’s A site meta with two small-looking edits that are going to feel huge in real rounds: Balcony has been extended, and Graveyard is now closed off. It is the kind of change that does not scream “rework,” but dramatically changes how you take space, clear angles, and survive retakes.

So what actually changes?

Closing Graveyard is the headline for us, because it removes one of A’s most annoying “extra” spaces to clear: a spot that often bails out defenders in rounds, and a place Terrorists had to respect even when their exec looked clean. With that tucked-away spot gone, A hits from Apartments should feel more achievable: fewer surprise timings, fewer awkward crossfires, and one less spot that forces attackers to waste a flash “just in case”.

The Balcony extension, on the other hand, is a bit of a wildcard right now. Giving that Apartments-to-site transition more room to work with is huge, considering Balcony isn't just a doorway anymore. But honestly, the impact of this change could go either way. A wider Balcony might let Ts post up earlier and swing with more confidence, but it could also give defenders new, awkward angles to contest the execute. The jury is still out on who actually benefits more, and we're really looking forward to seeing how teams adapt their strategies to approach this new geometry.

What it means for the meta

On T side, we expect more confidence in fast A pressure when the read is right, because the checklist is shorter. Instead of spending half your utility budget cleaning up the awkward angles, you can put more into isolating Pit, cutting off Short, and making the first trade happen on your terms.

On CT side, the response is probably less “hide and punish” and more “deny and delay.” If Graveyard is not a reliable fallback, defenders will have to lean harder on early info, smarter Pit/Short setups, and utility that buys time rather than gambling on a late multi-kill angle. Also, any tiny geometry change around Balcony tends to ripple into grenade lineups and timings, so expect a week of people re-learning what lands where.

Last but not least

And of course, we can't ignore the true highlight of the patch notes: "Fixed a slight tilt in the chicken running animation."

CS 2 ChickenIt is a massive relief to know Valve is tackling the heavy-hitting issues. With their posture finally sorted out, I fully expect the Inferno chickens to have better movement mechanics than half my matchmaking teammates.
