The Danish Giants Astralis CSGO have decided to cancel their contract with the Danish Rifler Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke based on a fistfight in which the Dane was involved in Matla resulted in him missing the IEM Rio Major RMR.

The Greatest of all time Astralis:

GOAT Astralis

The Danish Supergiants Astralis has been cited as one of the greatest teams of all time, with the organization bagging a record four CSGO Major titles and being the undeniable kings of CS:GO in 2018-2019.

The core roster of devices, dupreeh, Gla1lve, and Xyp9x, were together from October 2016 and since have managed to accumulate multiple accolades and have become the top earning players, with Dupreeh recently crossing the $2000000 mark in earnings.

The roster, though, parted ways when Device decided to join Ninjas in Pyjamas, followed by Dupreeh, Magisk, and Coach Zonic joining Vitality.

With major holes to be filled, Astralis signed Awper Lucky as a replacement for dev1ce, then BlameF and k0nfig were added to round out the roster.

With the new roster, Astralis struggled to find a comfortable footing. They have been trialing multiple players as a fifth, with k0nfig, BlameF, Xyp9x, and Gla1ve as the core members.

k0nfig Malta Incident:

On 21st September, Astralis took to Twitter to announce that k0nfig was missing from the active roster due to an ankle injury, and Mist will step in for him.

k0nfig to be subbed by Mist

On 27th September, a report mentioned the involvement of the danish rifles in a fistfight at a Nightclub in Malta post the ESL Pro League event, and Astralis will be looking to remove k0nfig from the team. K0nfig refuted the report and called it a rumor.

While k0nfig did undergo surgery for the broken ankle, he Tweeted out that he was doing fine and would be looking forward to playing post-recuperation. But this made him miss out on the European RMR, where the team failed to qualify for the IEM Rio Major.

About three hours ago, Astralis CSGO's official Twitter account posted the removal of k0nfig from their roster for personal reasons. Mist and Alexander "BRO" Bro will be joining the roster for the Blast Showdown.

Soon k0nfig took it to Twitter to address the situation and tell the people his side of the story. The Twitlonger mentions the details of events underway on the night of k0nfig's injury.

The Twitlonger mentions how these last few days have been one of the most challenging days of his life. Talking about the incident, k0nfig mentions that he and his friends went around Paceville post the Heroic loss to take their minds off of the loss.

When they hit the nightclub, separated from his group of Friends while entering a nightclub, k0nfig was humiliated by the person incharge. This led to an altercation, and then things aggravated, which led to a fistfight that caused a severe ankle fracture and an orbital fracture which might lead to blindness.

The investigation of the incident has registered k0nfig as the victim. He was also drug tested and cleared. You can read the details of the incident in the Twitlonger shared by k0nfig.

K0nfig shares how troubling the days have been, and he is thankful for the support and apologetic for his actions. He will try to overcome the setback and eventually come back stronger.

Another Early Exit, Same Old Story: Team Falcons Are Running Out Of Excuses

There is a cruel irony at the heart of Team Falcons' CS2 project. Hand someone from 2022 their current roster sheet — NiKo, m0NESY, TeSeS, Kyxsan, kyosuke, all under the tutelage of five-time Major-winning coach Zonic — and they would confidently declare this team the undisputed best in the world. And yet, here we are in March 2026, watching Falcons get knocked out of BLAST Open Spring in the quarterfinals by PARIVISION.
