FAQ

How to Read the Rocket League Team Rankings Table

The Rocket League team rankings table reflects the current competitive strength of professional teams based entirely on Strafe's performance model.

Each team row includes:

  • Rank
  • Rating
  • Win Rate
  • Matches
  • Recent Form

These rankings measure live performance. They do not represent tournament history, total earnings, or legacy success.

Rank and Rating

In the Rocket League team rankings, Rank is determined strictly by Rating. The team with the highest Rating holds the #1 position.

The Rating score reflects:

  • Recent match results
  • Strength of opponents
  • Consistency
  • Results over time

Recent wins carry more weight than older ones. Beating a strong opponent increases Rating more than defeating a lower-rated team.

Differences near the top of the table are more meaningful because they are formed from consistent high-level results. Lower in the table, small Rating gaps may reflect volatility or fewer matches.

These rankings reflect current strength, not historical titles.

Win Rate and Matches

Win Rate shows the percentage of matches won. However:

  • 70% over 10 matches ≠ 65% over 60 matches
  • Larger match counts create stronger statistical reliability
  • Smaller samples are more sensitive to short streaks

The Matches column helps interpret stability behind a team's position in the Rocket League leaderboard.

Team Form (Recent Results)

Recent Form tracks the last five matches (W/L).

This helps identify:

  • Momentum
  • Short-term performance trends
  • Potential upcoming ranking shifts

Because Strafe prioritizes recency, strong recent results can quickly impact Rocket League team ratings.

What the Rating Score Represents

The Rating in the Rocket League team rankings is calculated using:

  • Recent matches
  • Strength of opposition
  • Consistency
  • Weighted recency

Teams are sorted by Rating to determine Rank. If two teams share identical values, secondary criteria may apply.

Best Teams vs Most Successful Teams

The best Rocket League teams right now are not automatically the most historically successful teams.

Historical success may reflect prize money totals, major tournament wins, or legacy status. Current ranking position reflects recent performance, opponent quality, and stability over time.

Recent months matter more than previous seasons in a live performance ranking.

How to Use Rocket League Rankings

The Rocket League team rankings help users:

  • Follow the competitive hierarchy
  • Compare team strength objectively
  • Understand performance cycles
  • Anticipate match performance trends

They are informational and analytical tools built around performance data.
