In the third week of VCT Pacific, ZETA DIVISION took on Global Esports. In an exciting best-of-three series, ZETA won over Global Esports to register their second win of the season. The game started on Pearl where ZETA struggled against Global Esports but eventually managed to close it out in the second and the third map. After the game, Strafe had an opportunity to interview Tenta “Tennn” Asai. In an exclusive one-on-one interview ZETA Tennn talks about the game, his role change to sentinels and more.

Q. What are your thoughts on the game?

ZETA Tennn: “As usual for ZETA, we lost the first map but we won the second map but this is not so good. Personal performance wasn’t as good as the last week”

Q. What is the reason behind the slow starts of the team?

ZETA Tennn: “The first map Pearl GES played against DRX before, We started that game with preparations based on the last time GES played. But GES had improved from the last time they played Pearl and so we struggled to keep up.”

Q. What did you(ZETA) change as a team coming into the third week?

ZETA Tennn: “We didn’t do anything special. We just played with confidence and played our game confidently. Said that, we were able to adapt to the mid game better”

Q. On Ascent it seemed like ZETA had a lot of momentum going for them but the map went into Overtime and you won by a slight margin. Why is that?

ZETA Tennn: “In Mid-game, we attacked A repeatedly and the set we used was used by us previously and we were counter-strated by GES well”

Q. Bind will rotate in the competitive queue in the upcoming weeks, what are your thoughts on the change?

ZETA Tennn: “I am a bit sad that he won’t be playing Raze. But happy for the map change.”

Q. How has the role switch from Initiator/flex to Sentinel been for you?

ZETA Tennn: “When I am playing Killjoy and Cypher, I have to move alone and get information on the map. Which is different from my role previously and what my team is doing. Although I got used to it. It was very difficult for me”

Q. You’d face Detonation FocusMe in the next game. How’d you prepare for the game?

ZETA Tennn: “Whether the team we are fighting next is Japanese or not doesn’t matter to me. In this league are teams are strong and all enemies are the same for me”

Q. What are your expectations from the season? What do you think you’d (ZETA) need to work on to achieve those expectations?

ZETA Tennn: “So our expectations are to go to Masters Japan. For doing that we need to have a better first map and not drop it. And try to avoid being called a slow-starter team in the future”

In the next week ZETA Division will face Detonation FocusMe. DFM are currently struggling to find a footing at the event. Facing DFM, ZETA Division has an upper hand and they will try to ensure they convert the game into a solid victory.
