In the latest Monte Carlo Simulations run by Dota 2 statesman Ben "Noxville" Steenhuisen, Western Europe (WEU) had the overwhelming advantage in taking home the Aegis at The International 12 (TI12).

The information is based on the team's general strength and overall performance during the year, with the latest calculations based on the post-International regional qualifiers.

Western Europe has the most representatives at The International 12

Invites to The International are based on a team's performance throughout the DPC seasons. Teams can earn DPC points by doing well in the Regional League and the Majors.

In the 2023 DPC season, Western Europe had the best performance among all regions, with the top three teams in DPC points being from the area.

Western Europe has claimed the Aegis in four out of the last five Internationals and due to the region's success, Valve awarded them an extra slot for the Regional Qualifiers.

While most regions can only field one team from the regional qualifiers, Western Europe and South America can each send two representatives.

Thanks to a strong performance in 2023, and an impressive history, Western Europe will have five teams at TI12, more than any other region, with only Eastern Europe and South America coming close, with four teams each.

Gaimin Gladiators has the best chance of winning TI12

Going into specific teams, it's no surprise that teams from WEU are the most likely to carve their names in history in 2023.

Gaimin Gladiators has dominated the competitive scene this year, winning every Major as well as two Dreamleague competitions.

The five trophies combined have awarded the team a cool USD $1,000,000 in tournament winnings, not bad at all.

The Gladiators are not unbeatable though, as Riyadh Masters 2023 proved. Coming in as the favorites, Gaimin Gladiators placed fourth, an impressive achievement, yet underwhelming for the strongest team in the world.

Even with the recent setback, Gaimin Gladiators currently leads the pack, with an almost 19% chance to take home the Aegis this year.

Team Liquid and Quest Esports come next, with 14% and 12% chances to win the whole thing.

BetBoom Team is the most likely non-WEU team to claim the Aegis, although at 9%, it's a bit of a long shot.

Despite all the numbers and stats, in the end, any team can claim the Aegis. While certain teams have performed better throughout the year, it's no guarantee of success at The International.

OG TI8
Winning TI8 wasn't very probable for OG.

With BetBoom Dacha and DreamLeague 21 on the horizon, it's likely the odds for teams will be adjusted again before TI12 begins.

For us at Strafe Esports, all we know is that there is a 100% chance we will be tuning in and having a blast at The International.
