Tundra Esports Defend Their Crown at BLAST Slam III
BLAST Slam III has concluded, and Tundra Esports defended their title as reigning champions. Since the inaugural edition of BLAST Slam, teams that perform well in the Group Stage often advance to the Grand Finals — and this time, both luck and skill were on Tundra’s side.
Team Falcons, despite a rough 2025 season so far, made an impressive comeback. While they didn’t take the trophy, finishing in second place feels like a turning point. ATF and his teammates had a stellar run through groups, even managing to take a map off Tundra in the Grand Finals, but ultimately fell short in the final game.
Tundra Esports: A Successful Title Defense
Once again, we see a storybook ending for the defending champions. After Team Liquid successfully held onto their title at PGL Wallachia, Tundra Esports followed suit at BLAST Slam III.
Tundra’s journey began with a shaky start in the Group Stage, losing their opener to Xtreme Gaming. However, they quickly bounced back, securing victories over Team Tidebound, BetBoom Team, and Team Liquid to finish with a strong 3-1 record.
Meanwhile, Team Falcons mirrored this path in Group A, also finishing 3-1. Their only loss came in their second match against PARIVISION. They went on to defeat Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit, and Aurora, setting the stage for their deep playoff run.
In the playoffs, both teams continued their dominant form. Team Falcons swept Team Spirit 2-0, while Tundra Esports did the same to Gaimin Gladiators, earning their respective places in the Grand Finals.
Grand Finals: Business as Usual
The Grand Finals kicked off with Tundra Esports quickly establishing a 2-0 lead.Crystallisdelivered standout performances, especially on Razor, showing everyone why the hero should be respected in his hands.
Falcons responded with fire in the third map, capitalizing on early missteps by Tundra to close the gap to 2-1. However, Tundra came back strong in Game 4, sealing the series 3-1 and defending their title. With this victory, Crystallis officially carries the figurative torch passed fromdyrachyo.
Tundra Esports walks away with the first-place prize of $400,000, while Team Falcons takes home $200,000. The third and fourth place teams each earned $80,000, and the prize has the Team Earnings split format established after the first BLAST Slam.
The next stop on the Dota 2 pro circuit is DreamLeague Season 26. With Team Spirit giving up their slot, the chain of title defenses comes to a halt — but this opens the door for Tundra Esports, who were the runner-up at the last DreamLeague, to make a statement.
