Top 3 Heroes of Patch 7.41a According to Team Spirit

Top 3 Heroes of Patch 7.41a According to Team Spirit

Patches 7.41 and 7.41a shook ESL One Birmingham and are being analyzed in detail by all teams as we speak. Team Spirit finished the tournament in fifth place and has already figured out their favorites for the new meta.

Let's take a look at some of the favorite heroes for certain positions on Team Spirit and talk about how they performed in the current meta. On top of that, we might speculate a bit about the plan for the upcoming PGL Wallachia 8.

Patch 7.41a is proof that 7.41 was really broken in the state it was on release.

Top 3 Heroes of Patch 7.41a According to Team Spirit

Yatoro

The first player to release his list of favorites for patch 7.41a was Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk. Team Spirit's carry said he expects Lifestealer, Beastmaster and Naga Siren to dominate as carries from now on.

The Immortal bracket's Top 3 features Lifestealer as the most picked hero, but second and third place are Slark and Luna, probably as an echo from the previous meta. Yatoro seems to be favoring a different strategy.

If he's right, Beastmaster and Naga have a couple of similar features such as multiple sources of control (stuns/slows), multiple sources of damage (summons/illusions), and a tendency to split push in the endgame while keeping enemies busy.

Rue

The next Top 3 featured on Spirit's official Twitter came from their soft support Aleksandr "rue" Filin. He believes Rubick, Hoodwink and Techies will be the best position 4 support heroes for the current meta.

Just like Yatoro, his first place is Rubick, and that checks out in Immortal matches, but the following heroes are Pudge and Spirit Breaker. Spirit Breaker had a bug that might be the reason for the high pick rate so early in the meta.

As for Hoodwink and Techies, both heroes were already good in the previous patch and have mechanics that could catch Lifestealer off guard, either by using mines or by sneaking from the trees.

Larl

The last Top 3 released so far was a pool of midlaners chosen by Denis "Larl" Sigitov. He believes Queen of Pain, Ember Spirit and Pangolier will dominate the middle lane in the new meta.

Larl seems to have a better grasp of the meta compared to the average Immortal player, since his top pick is performing better than Invoker, who leads the pick rate in pubs but has lost significant performance. He is accompanied by QoP in second place and Void Spirit in third place.

Pangolier had a couple of buffs and small nerfs since 7.41 dropped but has somehow seen a steady increase of 3% in win rate over the last 14 days. Pango is a good, versatile pick that adds to the concern over offlaners who play him very well, such as ATF.

Closing Thoughts

The new meta is slowly finding its shape and forming a new pattern for teams to perfect over the course of the next few weeks. The first test for Team Spirit's picks will come soon, when the PREMIER SERIES reaches the Playoffs on April 8.

In the meantime, we will also see a lot of testing during the DreamLeague Season 29 Qualifiers, which also start on April 8 and run until April 14, right before Wallachia.
