The dust has settled in Dota 2 patch 7.34e and the meta is pretty similar to the previous patch. Minor changes to certain items and heroes have had a small shift to the game, but the overall state of pubs and competitive matches is mostly the same.

That means most of the best picks before the update still apply in Dota 2 patch 7.34e. In this article, we will list the best hard supports for you to pick to grind MMR.

The best hard support heroes to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.34e

Oracle

One of the most mechanically complicated hard supports is Oracle. His spells require a lot of game knowledge and experience to pull off, but if you know how to play the hero, then he's fantastic to spam.

During the early game, Oracle deals a surprising amount of burst damage courtesy of Purifying Flames and Fortune's end. Combine that with some ranged harass and you have a solid laning partner for any carry. Just be sure to remove Purifying Flame's healing on enemies with Fortune's end.

All of Oracle's spells can be used offensively and defensively. Purifying Flames can heal allies and damage enemies, while Fate's Edict prevents enemies from dealing physical damage and allies from taking magic damage.

Fortune's end dispells both enemies and allies, removing positive buffs from the former, and negative buffs from the latter. This is particularly useful against items such as Ghost Scepter and Glimmer Cape.

So in summary, Oracle requires a lot of concentration and practice to reach his full potential, but players who do so are richly rewarded.

Oracle is a versatile spell caster with one of the best saving spells in the game, False Promise. Being able to keep your carry alive for an additional 10 seconds is enough to win any team fight late game. False Promise is particularly good in Dota 2 patch 7.34e, as most core heroes itemize to tank hits, giving Oracle ample time to save his allies.

If there's one item players should get for Oracle, it's Aghanim's Shard. Rain of Destiny deals 40 damage to enemies and heals allies by 40 health a second, while also amplifying allies' healing by 20% and reducing enemies' healing by 20%. It's an absurdly powerful Shard and if it doesn't drop from the first Tormentor, it's worth buying.

Oracle is a complex hero but if you like a versatile ranged spell caster who can turn the tides of battle with one well-timed ultimate, then Oracle is one of the best hard supports to grind MMR for you.

Chen

There are a lot of things going on for Chen. The hero only needs a Headdress along with a level or two in Divine Fervor to win the lane for his carry. The extra 3.5 health regeneration during the laning stage is enough to sustain against almost all enemies.

Most of the time, players can skip Divine Fervor and focus on the hero's offensive spells instead. An early level of Penitence along with a couple of strong neutral creeps can decimate enemy heroes in the early game.

Holy Persuasion offers the hero unparalleled utility early on, allowing him to convert creeps that he needs to win any match-up.

Does the enemy have high physical damage? Then an Ogre Frostmage is perfect.

Wanna zone out the opposing offlaner? Get a Harpy Stormcrafter and spam Chain Lightning a few times.

Worried about the enemy using their mana to play aggressively? A Mana Burn or two from the Satyr Mindstealer will put a stop to that.

After the laning stage, Chen can start collecting creeps with powerful auras and push down towers with ease.

The way to play Chen has changed over the years, as the hero now focuses on providing his team with multiple useful auras instead of just four Centaur Conquerors with War Stomp (not that there's anything wrong with that either).

As for items, Chen usually rushes a Solar Crest to buff allies and then aims for more aura items, such as Greaves, Pipe of Insight, and possibly a Vladmir's offering as well.

Chen isn't the easiest hero to use, but he is well worth mastering, thanks to his swiss-army knife approach to the laning stage, strong pushing power, and the ability to bolster his allies. His ability to take down buildings by himself makes him among the best supports to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.34e

Chen is currently in the Top 10 heroes with the best win rates this month at an impressive 55% win rate in the Immortal bracket.

Treant Protector

The most contested hard support in the competitive scene is Treant Protector and it's easy to see why. The hero is durable, offers global map presence, and comes with a godly ultimate.

During the laning stage, a combination of Leech Seed, Nature's Grasp, and the hero's 89 starting base damage make him a terror in the lane. It's hard to escape from Treant or kill him, especially for melee heroes.

As the game advances and team skirmishes begin, Treant Protector continues to show his worth. A maxed-out Leech Seed deals 325 damage while healing allies for the same amount, it's an incredible amount of healing early on and enough to tip the tides in Treant's favor.

The hero hits an early power spike at the 15-minute mark. Aghanim's Shard gives the hero invisibility, an extra 15% movement speed, and a two-second root. This allows Treant to push dangerous lanes by himself and find unsuspecting enemies.

Aghanim's Shard is the only core item for the hero, but if Treant Protector can farm, then Blink Dagger and Aghanim's Scepter are fantastic items to help him land his ultimate.

All this and we haven't even mentioned Living Armor, one of the best spells at mitigating physical damage and keeping towers alive. The fact that it has global cast range is just icing on the cake.

With his powerful laning presence, global impact, and BKB piercing ultimate, it's no wonder that Treant Protector is the best support to grind MMR in Dota 2 patch 7.34e.
