T1 Achieves Profitability for the First Time in Organizational History

T1 has recorded an 80% revenue increase in 2025 compared to the previous year, resulting in the organization’s first year of profitability since inception.

According to Korean media reports centered on T1’s audit filings, the organization reached a major milestone. Despite a troublesome time for the esports industry, T1 has managed to record a profit for the entire 2025 fiscal year after increasing revenue to approximately $65 million.

That figure represents an 80% increase from their 2024 financial earnings, representing an operating profit of 2.5 billion won, approximately 1.6 million USD.

Revenue in esports

Esports organizations have found profitability in esports through various means, whether that be through revenue shares by in-game items surrounding their organization, sponsorship deals, or developing revenue streams through ventures outside of their primary esports focus.

Counter-Strike organization ENCE Esports has achieved profitability by focusing on fielding a semi-competitive CS2 team and generating revenue through buyouts and sticker sales. Additionally, other esports organizations have been able to turn a profit in specific quarters during the year, but have struggled to maintain that revenue on a consistent basis.

T1 has done an exceptional job of building a global fanbase that has helped the organization convert devote fandom into record-breaking sales figures.

It has become increasingly difficult for esports organizations to maintain revenue and profit in the industry. According to Sheep Esports, T1’s 2025 “cost of goods” nearly doubled its 2024 figure, indicating a year-over-year improvement in revenue.

One of the primary sources of revenue for T1 stems from their League of Legends team and their continued success on the international level. T1 has won a total of six League of Legends World Championships, with their first win in 2013 and their most recent in 2025.

That success has helped create visibility for League of Legends fans tuning into international events while maintaining support for the organization.

However, one of the biggest driving factors that has helped convert fandom into financial success comes from longtime League of Legends midlaner Faker whose popularity at times transcends League of Legends itself.

The six-time League of Legends World Champion is often cited as one of the most influential figures in the esports sector and has secured numerous brand deals and sponsorships that have helped T1 expand its global fanbase.
