Last minute sub: Sentinels sign Victor for Americas Stage 1 debut

Sentinels have announced a last minute change to their lineup ahead of the start of the VCT Americas 2026 Stage 1. Though expectaction to watch the new Sentinels roster in action is high, fans will need to wait a little longer before the whole team gets together as their new Duelist Gurjiwan "Jerrwin" Gill continues to struggle with visa issues.

Not all is bad news over in Sen City, though, as a tried and true veteran of the VALORANT esports scene is arriving to save the day.

A Masters Champion to the Rescue: SEN Victor

To replace Jerrwin, Sentinels have landed none other than Victor "Victor" Wong. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the name, Victor has more than 5 years of competitive VALORANT experience, having played for organizations as big as NRG and T1 in the past.

More importantly, though, Victor is a player who knows exactly what it takes to win on the big stage. The North American player won Masters Reykjavík back in 2022, where he represented OpTic Gaming along with other legends of the game like Pujan "FNS" Mehta and Austin "crashies" Roberts.

As far as last minute stand-ins go, Victor is about as good as it gets.

When Does Jerrwin Return for Sentinels?

The truth is, there is simply no answer to that question right now. As of now, Victor is set to compete with Sentinels for their debut match of Stage 1 against KRÜ Esports, set to take place Friday, April 10.

From then on, Victor's position in the team will most likely remain on a week-to-week basis as Jerrwin's visa issues continue to sort themselves out.
