B8 becomes the latest team to join the roster shuffle season, as The International 2023 qualifiers are on the horizon. However, the team got caught in another scandal regarding the mistreatment of one of its players as they tried to find a new player. Since its founding, there have been a lot of controversies surrounding B8. The team struggled to maintain their slot at Eastern Europe Division II DPC. They had to purchase a North America Division I slot earlier this year. As the team’s results improved in North America, one of its former players accused them of not giving him his DPC money. The player also called out the team’s captain, Dendi, on his unwillingness to improve.

The Juicy Details

In one of his recent Twitch streams, the player called out the team’s management and his former teammate. The player recalled that the manager told him he did “ a disservice” to the organisation through “ media activity”. Funn1k has not received his allocated DPC money for nearly two tours.

In an interview with a news source, the player also mentioned B8 had a lot of problems within the team. However, he chose to ignore them as he had an idea to play and achieve results. Over time, these little problems add up. He got put into a scenario to face these problems for over a year.

After telling the issues he faced with the team, Funn1k then talked about the issues with his former teammate, Dendi. According to him, he confronted Dendi to try and get him to practice so that Dendi would improve throughout the season. He tried to share ways for Dendi to improve psychologically and in-game mechanics. However, after half a year of seeing Dendi lack in progression, Funn1k concluded that he couldn’t bear it anymore. Funn1K left the team because he isn’t willing to play with someone who doesn’t want to improve despite having the means to do.  After stating the issues with Dendi, the player also shared he got beaten at a nightclub in Serbia.

Uncertain B8’s Future?

B8 had not commented about Funn1k’s comments on the team. However, the team posted them parting ways with the player late last month. As the team is now looking for a new player to join them, the statements could hurt their reputation if they prolonged to deal with it. Moreover, the team has to go through The International 2023 Qualifiers to earn a seat at The International 2023.
