Our criteria – How do we rate the best speakers for gaming?
- Space – The main factor we always consider with speakers is space. It all depends on how much space you have personally, but a speaker that doesn’t take up too much space but also has some great features is always a bonus.
The left/right speakers, with a subwoofer, are going to take up a good bit of space. But, still, if you have no space at all, a soundbar can make for good gaming speakers.
- Frequency range – This really makes a difference on the overall quality of the sound. The best gaming speakers will have subwoofers that can cover a frequency range from 20 Hz to 200 Hz – a range that lets you experience gunshots and explosions as if you are really there.

The Logitech G560 comes in with plenty of hype, and it certainly lives up to it. It even has the RGB lighting on the speaker. We believe that RGB lighting can be very hit or miss with speakers – it works much better with the best gaming keyboards. But, with the G560, it’s really a beautiful aesthetic that works as a great function too.
You can choose between two different control modes for the speakers. With both hardware control and software control, you can choose whatever RGB lighting mode, or colours that fits your mood. And, trust us, there is plenty.
It has built in DTS:X Surround Sound, which is the most immersive and complimentary surround sound with any gaming experience.
It also has a great screen sampler – where it takes colors that are on the TV, and extends them outwards to fully suck you into the experience. It’s really something you have to experience for yourself to fully appreciate.
Disadvantages – Are there any downfalls to the G560?
- Pricey - As what is expected with such high quality speakers, you’ll be forking out for the G560. A retail price of $200 is very steep for speakers, but when it comes to the absolute best gaming speakers, we believe it’s worth every penny.

There’s nothing the G560 doesn’t accomplish. It ticks every box you’d expect the best speakers for gaming to tick, with the best possible sound you could imagine, and some beautiful lighting that really immerses you in the whole experience. For that, we rate this

The A2+, simply put, is the best ‘classic’ speaker look you can find. It doesn’t have any frills or fancy designs, but it certainly does its job. You can hear all the tones and changes in frequency through all the low, middle and high levels.
The USB port allows for some great digital audio conversion, elevating its compatibility across multiple systems even more. Whether you’re a casual or serious gamer, we really believe the A2+ is one of the best gaming speakers for PC.
Disadvantages - Are there any pitfalls to the Audioengine A2+
Volume knob on the back – Somewhat of a trivial complaint, but the knob for the volume is on the back of the A2+.
This can be somewhat frustrating and awkward for some gamers, who are trying to turn up or turn down volume at their earliest convenience. However, finding a complaint so trivial goes to show how the A2+ is one of the top gaming speakers.

What makes the Pebble Plus a great value cheap speaker?
When it comes to cheap, good gaming speakers, the Pebble Plus is ahead of the pack. Finding any great quality speakers under $50 may seem impossible, but the Pebble Plus manages it. With a total output power of 8 watts, this bad boy has a much better output than any of its cheaper competition. It’s fairly small too – it can easily fit in with the best desk for gamers. In fact, it’s perfectly suited for smaller spaces – like bedrooms and dorms.
Along with some cool features added on, that enhance the overall speakers quality and top notch control you have on the overall sound. All in all, the Pebble Plus is a great buy if you have a spare $40.
Disadvantages – are there any pitfalls to the Pebble Plus?
- Lack of bass – Our primary complaint with the Pebble Plus is that it really lacks that big striking bass that the top gaming speakers have. It’s clarity and sharpness is on point, but a lack of real bass control means it doesn’t compare to many other of the best gaming speakers.
Our rating
For gamers who are saving their pennies, this is the perfect choice. It’s a good speaker for gaming in small spaces, like bedrooms, and has the best quality of sound we’ve found among any speakers that would be under $100. But, you also have to be aware of the limitations of cheaper speaker like this, such as lack of bass With all that in mind, we give the Pebble Plus.

What makes the Razer Nomma Chroma good speakers for gaming?
These speakers may look like they belong in the exhaust of a Corvette, but in reality, they’re great at what they excel at. The Chroma offers some brilliant sound, and some excellent RGB lighting that is a little more subtle in its performance. It echoes out from the bottom, but will still add a little more intensity and immersion to your gameplay experience.
It’s booming sound wouldn’t make you think it lacks a subwoofer, but in reality, it doesn’t have one. Still, it provides an excellent bass, and we’d absolutely recommend this speaker to any gamer who’s looking for a speaker without a loud subwoofer – if you have the desk space.
Disadvantages – are there any drawbacks to the Nomma Chroma?
- Takes up space – Our one main complaint about the Chroma is the space it takes up. They perform excellently, don’t doubt that they are good speakers for gaming, but they do look and weigh like a pair of Corvette exhausts. And, what comes with that, is a lot less room on your desk, if it’s a small desk.
Our rating
The Chroma really has an unique look, and in itself, it provides a bit of a unique performance. Without a subwoofer, it really excels at delivering great quality sound – sound that would suit any gamer down to the ground. Along with the nice RGB lighting that really compliments everything, the Nomma Chroma is a great speaker for anyone who doesn’t want a subwoofer. And, for that, we reward it:

- Creative T100 - A solid all rounder

What makes the Creative T100 good speakers for gaming?
Again, Creative makes our list with another excellent speaker addition. They may be known for the best graphic cards for gaming, but they’re certainly pulling their weight with speakers too. The T100 is one of the speakers that doesn’t excel in any particular area – but, it doesn’t need to. The audio is crisp and clear.
The full range drivers – which are fairly hard to find in today's speakers markets – offer some great, bolstering sound. The surround sound feels real when you’re playing, and they really do immerse you in your gameplay.
As far as space goes, it’s fairly unassuming. Sure, they don’t look too impressive or spectacular, but their small size and lack of presence mean they can fit in on any desk.
The T100 doesn’t have a subwoofer or an elaborate setup like some of the best speakers for gaming do, but they really stand on their own two feet with grace and excellent performance.
Disadvantages – are there any drawbacks to the Creative T100?
- Lack of bass – Again, like the Pebble Plus, the T100 really does lack that heavy bass that the best speakers for gaming really excel at. The surround sound is excellent, and the actual audio is as sharp as a razor.
But, an inability to actually feel the bass as certain low frequency events happen is a downfall that really makes a difference.
Our rating
We really think the T100 is the best jack of all trades. It offers everything at a solid level in a small package, and it would really function well as a gaming speaker for a casual, or new gamer.
With it’s crisp sound, and realistic surround sound effects, it does have a level of immersion that many all round speakers only hope to achieve. But, the lack of a subwoofer really shows. So, for that, we rate the T100:
