Elimination Chamber : VCT Americas Playoffs Day 3 Recap

Day 3 of the Playoffs of VCT Americas was the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals, where 2 teams were sent home, while the other 2 will fight each other for one last shot at the championship.

Game 1: Cloud9 vs Leviatan

Cloud9 got the better of their South American opponents, as they won the series 2-0 to stay in the competition.

Cloud9 kicked things off with quite the dominant start on Haven. Showing off a very impressive attacking side, they allowed Leviatan to take only 3 rounds. They ended the first half at 9-3. Cloud9 got to Map Point first, but Leviatan did try to fight back. But they could only manage to win back 5 rounds, as the North American outfit won the map 13-8.

Leviatan managed to bounce back on Lotus. The first half was quite even between the two, as they ended the first half 6-6. However, Leviatan had an impressive attacking side, as they managed to take 4 rounds right off the bat. Cloud9 only managed to muster 4 rounds in the half, before conceding the map 13-10.

Cloud9 did not take kindly to this, as they proceeded to demolish Leviatan on Ascent. Barely allowing Leviatan to fight back, Cloud9 took 8 rounds on their attack side to end the half 8-4. Things only got worse for Leviatan after the break, as Cloud9 took 5 rounds straight to take the map 13-4.

Cloud9 moved on to the Lower Bracket Semi Finals. Leviatan were eliminated from the Playoffs of VCT Americas 2023.

Game 2: Furia vs NRG

North Americans dominate the Lower Bracket as NRG wins the series 2-0, sending Furia home.

NRG had a strong start on Bind, managing to take 7 rounds right off the bat. Furia could only manage 2 rounds, as the first half ended 10-2 in favor of NRG. Furia did manage to fight back in the second half. They pulled off a 5 round win streak after NRG got on to Map Point. But this win streak was cut short, as NRG ended the map at 13-9.

Furia had a decent start on Haven, as they managed to take 7 rounds in the first half on their defense. But NRG’s defense was much better than what Furia had shown, as they managed to take 5 rounds right off the bat. NRG went on to win the map 13-10.

NRG will face Cloud9 in the Lower Bracket Semi Finals. Furia have been eliminated from the Playoffs of VCT Americas 2023.
