The PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 enters its playoff stage on February 21st, 2025, with eight teams still in contention for the ultimate glory. The opening playoffs matches feature a mix of expected favorites and rising challengers, promising interesting clashes as teams have one more challenge to overcome.

This preview will preview the four opening matches: paiN vs MOUZ, The MongolZ vs Astralis, Falcons vs Eternal Fire, and FaZe vs SAW.

paiN vs MOUZ

paiN Gaming and MOUZ face off in a match that could really go either way. Both teams have won 3 out of their last 5 matches, showing similar recent form. paiN want to prove that their newly acquired status as the best Americas teams is here for a reason while MOUZ wants to take this new challenge to show everyone they still mean real business.

The MongolZ vs Astralis

The MongolZ enter this match with strong momentum, having won 4 out of their last 5 matches, continuing their impressive 2025 run and proving they are here to stay. Astralis, while always a strong and traditonal opponent, have been less consistent recently and may be seeing the end of their run here.

Falcons vs Eternal Fire

This match features Falcons, who are finally looking like realizing all the potential they were hinting for a while, against the higher-ranked and very scary Eternal Fire. Falcons heavily rely on the Niko-Magisk star duo to continue this run, while Eternal Fire solidity will be put into test in another very challenging matchup.

FaZe vs SAW

FaZe Clan enters as the heavy favorite, having won 4 out of their last 5 matches and looking to prove their unstable performances are a thing of the past. SAW's best chances rely on the fact they have very little to lose as they are in a transition phase after the recent roster movements.
